[Download] DBC - Maps - Vmaps - Updated with new patches.

I will (Try to) keep this updated as new patches come out, these are the DBC, maps, and vmaps (Needed when collision is enabled) for ascent 2.4.2.

Ascent is the main link if you want to go there.


To install:

DBC

Windows: Drag the dbc folder into the root of your ascent folder. IE: Where ascent-world.exe, etc are.

Linux: Rename dbc to DBC and put it in your ascent/bin folder. IE: Where you execute ascent from.

Maps

Windows: Drag the maps folder into the root of your ascent folder. IE: Where ascent-world.exe, etc are.

Linux: Drag the maps folder into your ascent/bin folder. IE: Where you execute ascent from. (Do NOT rename)

vMaps

Windows: If you do not have the collision.dll in your ascent root, download it from here, and put it there.

Then simply drag the vmaps folder into the root, same as dbc and maps.

Linux: To enable vMaps you need to recompile your ascent core, with

./configure --enable-collision

make

make install

I do not know for sure, but this could possibly overwrite your current ascent, so you might want to back up first.

Vmaps are corrupted, you can't unpack them. use .rar instead of .7zip

Questions..
What is Vmap?

What is Map?

What is DBC?

AND how do I install these or update to my existing ascent folder?

Vmap is needed for collision for your server
maps are needed if you want exploring xp for your server
You install them by un-zipping to your existing ascent folder. Or new folder

Well.. for DBC, didn't really define it and Vmap not so defined also.

But thanks now I know what Map does..

Anyways, do I use the extracted files from the ZIP to my ascent folder and replace the things inside my ascent folder?

and DBC.. if I upgrade my Server with DBC will my Database get affecteD? What actually does it do?

The file name extension .DBC is used to store all information that describes the network

vMap is pretty much defined

I cant really define DBC, all you need to know is that for your server to work you need them.

Collision is so that mobs cant do spellz through walls, i think.

Updating DBC wont affect Database in any way, neither wont updating any of these.

They aren't corrupted, use 7zip to unpack them.

Actually, I just unpacked it with winrar, it is fine. You just had a corrupted download it seems.
