    I believe that they are an important part of Collision. I think they define the walls and stuff to disable people from walking through or falling thru things.

    Virtual Maps. They're a simple collision system since the current one that is embedded into the cores isn't fully done developing. They work. but not to the best of ability, and they don't work on EVERYTHING as they have to be defined per object, but they do a pretty good job.
    and, before you think about it. Don't compile the collision in the core, it's not unstable as much as it is resource heavy. After an hour or so of running, it can cause major ram, and cpu usage.
