Please remove if not allowed I am trying to share info and save people troubles as I found my way to emucoach from this website and I don't want others having my experience.

spent $45 "donating" for cata vip gold for 3 years...what a joke! Less then 1 week in with nothing else installed or running on 2 computers but cata and the repack on the main computer. First 3 days where beautiful we levelled to 63 no problems bots doing as they should ahbot not so much it never buys even altering settings. Ask for help on discord and get pointed back to vip forums never a link or more help...just "go look on vip forums" Finally gave up and played it how it is straight from downloading. Less then a week and now every time we log on the game runs smooth until either A) you que for a dungeon or B) you join a pvp battleground. All the sudden even if just one computer is playing the game lags like u don't have good internet(mind you the server is on the same computer) Restart the server sometimes one dungeon or battleground then bam! Server lags and glitches so bad you can't do anything. No error logs . First it continues to save sql data files til it filled a 500gb SSD then after learning how to make it clear all but recent save got it back down to under 50. Didn't matter game still runs rough. Better off playing some free repacks out or compiling your own if you have the knowledge...which I don't. Shoulda kept my wow sub running at least then I could a covered 3 months . Don't fall for this "amazing deal" most people are dealing with constant license troubles and no response for days. My review will be posted up on all platforms related to repacks to make sure that it's understood what people are paying for. Lot of people were mentioning that the provider has been more worried about a specific private server he is helping. My opinion they must be getting the good good because they are making him more money. Don't be scammed out of your money like I was. If it sounds to good to be true ...IT IS!!!

Considering the last vip update was Oct 2023, on a pack which is supposedly constantly being updated. I wish I had checked around before renewing my MoP vip this year, expecting a shiny new update in the year since I last downloaded.

We need to get this server unlocked. It's a dead project, and they are just milking it. They have no developers anymore.

I have a MOP v5 I got in 2023, and they consistently brush off peopl'e frustrations with the lack of updates.

However, I see more, and more people not renewing, so that means the project will eventually die off.

My frustation lies in the fact that the server is bound to our network cards, and it authorizes. I tried to spoof the mac, on a different com, and it didn't work so we can rule out that it's not bound to the mac only. I suspect a more deeper key lock in to the NIC card. Perhapds device ID as well, and all the other settings a NIC card has.

We really need someone to come forward and bypass it. I'm tempted to install the server again (paid) on a VMware computer, and see if I can get a a fresh install on a portable computer.

That way, the vmware can be loaded on ANY computer going forward. This is the only idea I've come up with outside of the serrver being locked to the nic.

I don't want to support them anymore due to how they lock this server like this. It means if OUR computers die, we can't use the server anymore because it was bound to old hardware. What a scummy move. It's a planned obsolescence, and eventually this project will be gone forever if someone does not preserve it.

Honestly. they need to just unlock it now and release it to the public

I agree, they got enough of money for this, considering they don't do update anymore at this point.
I've paid their subscription for years and still, not even able to move the server to another disk without another license key needed.

And if you don't have license key anymore, you have to EXPLAIN TO THE OWNER why you need a new license key and request a new one without waiting months.

So.. I paid but i have to explain myself ?

Never pay for repacks, take it as a lesson learnt. Emulators are not that hard to setup and compile, and people are generally willing to help in the Discord's if you do your homework first and ask questions carefully.

100%! It is the worst form of DRM I have ever seen. We bought the license, so we should be able to do what we want with it. The only thing I'd play on that emucoach repack is the PvP. Just max out your character right away, and PvP for fun. I found the owner of that site to be very unwelcoming, and rude. He ignored a problem I had for 3 months, but I kept chasing him. I see all the time in that top chat box by others who want more content... "When is the next release?" I think to myself... there won't be another one... it's D.O.A

On a plus note, I'm now using the awesome Azerothcore server from this site that has all the modules. Now that is a repack worth investing time in.
