    [Help]How to find some addresses/offsets 5.0.5

    Hello fellows, I'm going to explain my situation.

    I want to update one source i've got to support a new version (5.0.5v16135, on pservers).
    And i researched into those "Info Dump xxx" threads but i couldn't find these addresses for this version
    http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...mp-thread.html ([WoW][5.0.5.16048] x86 Info Dump Thread)

    I'm not very good at IDA but Hex editors and Olly.

    So let's take this example in the case of 15595 build (4.3.4).

    Code:
    _realm_service_ptr = REBASE_ADDRESS(0x00dbe7ec);
            _realm_service_ptr_socket_obj_ptr_off1 = 0x1188;
            _realm_service_ptr_socket_obj_ptr_off2 = 0x1c8;
            _service_ptr = REBASE_ADDRESS(0x00dbe7f4);
            _service_ptr_socket_obj_ptr_off = 0x4640;
            _service_ptr_socket_obj_ptr_key_off = 0x18d;
            _exe_agent_hook_point = REBASE_ADDRESS(0x00858018);
            _lua_state_ptr = REBASE_ADDRESS(0x00ebef10);
    I exactly don't know how to find these addresses neither on 4.3.4 nor 5.0.5b (And no, i can't ask to the main developer of this source)

    That's why i ask if anybody could give me a helping hand.

    I'd be so glad.

    Thanks in advance

    Find offsets you need for the current version of WoW, if you can find them ( and check against them in the dump thread ) then you can apply the same knowledge to previous versions of WoW.

    If you don't have a clue about how to find those things at the moment, IMHO you'd do better spending some time learning the basics and understanding where you can find them, as greenegz suggested. Once you can find them in one version, and you know where they come from, you'll have a much higher chance of finding them in any other version, even from dead code. Tools like bindiff/patchdiff can help, but aren't required in general. However, I do suggest you play around with IDA a little bit, the byte search feature will surely be useful for your cause.
