I used MPQeditor & DBCeditor to open ReaserchSite.dbc to take a look at all the digsites but it only had like 26 sites listed , i thought the file should have a full list =x, does anyone know why this is?

You probably forgot to include the patch files ("wow-update-*.mpq"). Most dig sites are added through those updates.
I really doubt the locations of the actual spawns (not the zones) are kept client side.
I add them to a central repository as I discover them, effectivly creating a database of all possible spawns. Unfortunatly I wrote this after my friends (they get to use my hack/bot/tool and contribute to this repository) levelled archaeology (I can't be bothered) so the amount of spawns I gathered is limited (about 1500, mainly kalimdor). You can also grab them from popular gather addons, in map coordinates obviously, the conversion isn't hard.

Wowhead also exposes some of their data in XML on their site. They've also honored requests I have made for database exports. They will want to be convinced you're not making a competitive site or a private server database.
