Energy Regen Choppy?? menu

    Energy Regen Choppy??

    I added some code to my bot to do some auto combating for raids. The problem i have seeing is that the energy regen does not appear to update in the Unit_Field_Power4 offest "smoothly".

    I set up a test loop to read and display the energy and combo points in a loop an went to the target dummy to verify what i thought was happening. I also timed the loop and put a sleep(250) so that things were more readable.

    Here is what a section of the output looks like.

    The smooth regen you describe is a visual clientside effect. Just like mana, energy recieves an 'update' or 'synchronisation' packet every so often. You can test this by using a speedhack on a toon with depleted manabar, it will seem like it fills up faster due to the speedhack but as soon as you do your next cast the mana will synchronize with the server and deplete again.

    The 'smooth' regeneration was implemented in WoTLK. If you remember what it was like in TBC, it going up in chunks, you'd have a pretty good idea of what is actually happening.

    Yes this was changed in WOTLK. Power is now updated on recieving SMSG_SPELL_GO, an energise log, or SMSG_POWER_UPDATE.

    I don't think the power field is used anymore in client, even though the server still sends updates for it.
