    Looking for D3D9 Wrapper

    Hi

I am looking for a (C++) D3D9-wrapper because I want to paint a GUI for one of my hacks.

So basically, I just want to paint 2D above a 3D game. I know there are good libs out there which aim at creating GUIs, I just couldn't find any using Google.
It doesn't has to be an advanced one, I am happy with input fields/checkboxes/buttons.

Any suggestions what I could use? Thanks
    Hey, it compiles! Ship it!

Do you want a GUI lib or some kind of D3D9 hook wrapper? Your terminology seems to be a bit (actually, a lot) off.

    If it's the former:
CEGUI is quite comprehensive and works fine in injected hacks - http://www.cegui.org.uk/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
You can probably find some lightweight stuff on GD, BSing's GUI comes to mind, however the quality of the code is a lot lower, so it's a tradeoff.

    If it's the latter:
Check GD, there's probably half a dozen.

    Hijacking.

Did anyone in the past try to create a managed DirectX GUI library?

I've made several controls already based on the control hierarchy of both .NET and Java's SWING. So far I've got the basics (draggable and resizable window, menu bar/items, check/radio/standard buttons, combo/list box) but it's all rather messy and buggy.

tldr: same question, but managed version available?

Edit: CEGUI#, hallowed be they name.

Yeah, I am/was looking for a GUI lib ... but CEGUI looks very nice, thanks.

CEGUI# is actually pretty bad as far as a GUI lib goes.

You'd be much better off writing your own framework.

I looked into this a while back; it should in theory be possible to hijack the (existing) DX render canvas and use it directly in WPF (since WPF renders directly into the DX frame buffer).

I went a little ways down the path of this, but once you figure out the basic methodology to use WoW's DX canvas in WPF, you can just use WPF as your Managed DX UI.

Edit: I looked into this a bit last night because I was bored (since my LuaNet project is pretty much done and I'm putting off rewriting my bot yet again). If you want more info for how to do this, google WPF and D3DImage.
