Okay well it finally looks good now. Was also able to solve most of the annoying depth-flickering.

I also want to make an ingame GUI. Im only familiar with Delphi and not C++.
Unfortunately not able to find a guide/tutorial/help on how to get it done. Can you share source?(Only the source to create a window is needed).

Back again to showcase the difference between 9x9+8x8 (left) and 9x9 (right). You can see that Blizzard's "patented" cross-cross pattern disappears when the extra LOD vertices are removed.
