    Memory Reading Library?

    Hi,

Isn't there any kind of library for wow-memory reading? I want to build my own bot but don't want to go through the hassle of finding the new offsets/signatures after every patch.

I found wowbasic but I guess it is pretty outdated. Someone wrote something about a library on shynd's journal but I didn't found nothing there too and this last post is from june08 so it would be outdated as well.

    Thanks for any help!

Memory reading libraries such as Shynd's BlackMagic library only simplify the use of the ReadProcessMemory function. You still need to know the address to read from, so atm there is no such auto-offset-updating memory reading library.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

PS: Link to the library if you wanted it: http://forum.gamedeception.net/showthread.php?p=102497

Write yourself a pattern scanner or use one of the freely available ones. Thats how I update across patches.

Can Warden somehow scan for a library like blackmagic? Is it safer to write your own? It'd suck to make a private bot for myself so that I'm "undetected" but then get banned because I'm using someone elses .dll :\

As of right now, no. Since Warden isn't checking all the loaded modules (and BlackMagic never loads itself into WoW).

I can think of a better way for them to detect it (and lots of other bots/hacks/etc)....

Hint: *cough cough* stack trace *cough cough*

Before anyone says "I don't call functions though" if you're modifying memory they could also just CRC the entire .text and .rdata segments, that'd **** anyone hacking pretty hard too assuming they're modifying constants or code (which most hacks do).

If you're just reading memory and emulating input then you're probably fine, but glider style bots suck ass anyway so its a moot point.
