Security Risks of a Private Bot
a question for the people who made their own private bots.
how high is the risk to get banned if you exclude player reports and totally stupid botting behaviours ?
i am working on my own grinding bot and am wondering if blizzard can detect my bot with some generic detection methods.
should i worry about security when my bot is only used by one person ?
thanks for feedback

The risks are the exactly same as any public bot, without Blizzard trying to detect your bot specifically. You aren't any safer just because your bot isn't called Honorbuddy.exe. Be smart about it and you'll be fine.

thanks for the answer !
so if i understand it right, with a private bot i "only" have to defend against the generic warden detection methods.
is there a good thread about warden that you can recommend ?

There are plenty of threads about Warden that even dates back to when it was implemented. They can most likely be found on OC or maybe sites like blizzhackers. Warden changes over time like the bots do, and it seems to have changed Legion where HB doesn't know what to do. As Jadd said; you can make your own bot and what not, but Warden will most likely catch it. It's catching all bots as of lately, so defending against "generic warden detection methods" ain't gonna be easy. If you do, please share it with buddyland and other bot creators
