    Am I going to get banned?

    About a year ago, I got caught buying gold. I did not get any punishment at all, the only thing I received was a letter in the mail the next day stating that buying gold is bad. Anyways, fast forward a year. I recently started to get into botting. I started out using Fullbot, but I would only use it in remote places where nobody would see me. After it expired, I used Coolfish. I generally used these programs about 8-12 hours a day for around 3-4 days straight. Afterwards I completely stopped. However, during this time, I left slip that I used a bot to one of my friends. I heard that Blizzard actually has sensors that can detect key words like bot. So is there a good probability I'm going to get permabanned? I have stopped using bots. (I assume buying gold was a first offense)

    I'm really worried about Warden. I have no idea what Warden is capable of detecting. I hear that if you get detected by warden, it could be a long time before they ban because Blizzard bans with warden in waves.

    Am I going to get banned?

    Time will show, and I strongly doubt blizzard has capacity to check chat logs unless they are investigating a certain matter. Remember, it they search for "bot" they will get a hit every time someone asks for a repair bot in LFR (which happen A LOT, at least in my LFR's)

    As long as you bot within reasonable amounts, and monitor your bot to unstuck it fast when it runs into a wall/tree/building, you shouldn't have a lot to worry about.

    Just a follow up question, if Warden only scans the Wow.exe process, then how does it detect botting programs that are running off of their own process?

    Memory editing is not in my area of knowledge, but (many of) the 3rd part appliactions utilise memory injections and tamper with the wow.exe process. Try to look in the memory editing sections and see if you find something useful about the warden or governor there.

    Pretty sure that even if they had a sensor, they'd not scan LFR chats... Most likely Whispers/BNet messages only

    That was just an example.

    There is 90 items in WOW with "bot" in the name, 66 npc's and 144 spells. You really can't monitor on such a common used word.

    I'm just really paranoid right now. From what I can tell, if they did catch me botting, they can ban me at any time. I might be safe now, but I could get banned a year from now if they detected me botting just a few days ago. How long do they usually wait before banning a botter they have detected? Also, if I did get caught, is it more than likely it'll be a permaban? I am not sure if buying gold counts as my first offense as I never officially received any punishment for it.

    I wouldnt sweat it if i were you. I recently got back into Multiboxing (Dem monks), and i bot all five of them in dungeons. Got some very sophisticated profiles and such. Just be safe and manage your bot time to look like someone with isonmia that likes the game; they play a lot, but they need to eat/sleep/crap.

    I wouldn't worry about it, unless you're bragging 24/7 in trade chat how much dps your bot does. If you're not banned already;

    • Play wow
    • Be happy
    • Have fun!
