    [Question] Best safe bots around?

Hi guys, what's up? I know this question might sound stupid, but before I start getting the "bot safe, don't get greedy/stupid" lecture let me tell you that I botted all my way through cataclysm and 5.0~5.1ish, never had any problems getting reported or banned. I'm ALWAYS monitoring my bot, 100% of the time, talking to people and what not, I use bots mainly for gathering because I just hate searching for the nodes, and used to use HonorBuddy. But lately some reports that GatherBuddy is no longer safe started to surface. People saying that they are getting banned out of nowhere because some GB routines or behaviours, getting automated bans because GB is supposedly detected now. Even some dev @ the HB forum told me recently that:

...Gatherbuddy2's risk has gone up significantly due to server-side tools Bliz now has in place. You will need to form your own hypothesis as to how Bliz is detecting you (if you get tagged)...
So taking that into account I'm here asking, are there any alternative that's both good AND safe? I took a look at Shadowbot wich claims to be the safest, but it didn't look to gather stuff too well, aside from being really expensive. There's also NoobBot wich looks kinda cool. Any tips?

As far as i know, Shadow Bot comes from the developers of Pocket Gnome(mac bot) and is considered pretty safe, since it doesn|t inject anything into the memory like for example HB does.

I don't know Shadow Bot, but I've used Pocket Gnome a bit on my mac, and it's a really nice bot to use when you get used to the UI and settings. Making your own routes and behaviors is VERY easy and you can tailor it a lot for your own needs.

The only thing i miss in PG that HB has, is the option for questing plugins (they are working on this but it's not as good as Kicks profile, among other, for HB) But for gathering/grinding, Pocket Gnome/Shadow bot is really really nice, and propably even better than HB since it's almost impossible for warden to detect it due to being 100% passive and not manipulating/injecting memory.

Good luck on finding a bot!

But what about the way ShadowBot does things? I've seen some videos and it looks pretty robotic to me. Specially when gathering stuff. The main problem with HB, aside from injecting, now with all that randomized gathering stuff users are coming up with, is that little "unstuck dance" it does. Doesn't shadowbot looks even worse in that aspect? since it seems to navigate using only keystrokes?

I have used Shadowbot and currently use Honorbuddy. There are good and bad about both of them. Shadowbot I used last year, and it worked well for me only because I didnt know there were others around. Yes SB is pretty robotic, and there is no supported questing bot as of yet, I also got stuck quite a bit with SB. The good thing is that is it very simple to make your own routes and shit for SB. It is like a macro recorder, you hit start, run/fly around in the pattern you want, and then hit stop and you can move/add/remove waypoints all you want. Also the support for SB is decent as well. The creator (Jokur) will give you his Skype info and show you what you are doing wrong if you run into a problem. The best thing is that it is 100% passive. But, when you use the passive abilities, the bot takes control of your mouse, so you can not(or can but it gets really annoying) assist the bot while it is doing its thing. And like I said, it can get pretty robotic.

Now HB on the other hand is a lot less robotic, has profiles for pretty much anything you can think of, and a shit ton of support on the forums. (Also currently you can get a lifetime membership for the bot itself for like 24 Euro or 30 something US dollars which is cheaper than SB) Also, If you have thoughts of how safe HB is or is not, you can always check the forums to see what the users are saying about being banned. I on the other hand have been using it for almost a year, and have never came close to being banned. It is all about how you use it. I do not use the bot for extended periods of time, I will start the bot and then set my computer to shut off after 3 hours. Or (most of the time) I sit at the computer and either watch the bot, or do other things on my other screen and periodically talk to people, help the bot, stop it and do my own thing for a while, and I always check to make sure that people arent following me. I always look for other botters while I bot, there was one time I looked and this guys toon was following my exact movement, taking the same quests, killing the same mobs, etc. and I realized he was botting the same profile as I was, so I went to another toon or area because fellow botters are the ones that will report you the most since you are slowing them down and taking thier business.

Now for my opinion on which you should use.

    1. If you are going to use the bot for grinding and gathering, set the bot and forget it, and for long periods of time(4+ hours at a time) I would use Shadowbot.

    2. If you are going to use it for gathering, grinding, leveling, dailies, fishing, achievements, rotations(like use it in raids where the bot will control your whole rotation, but you control the movement of your toon), etc. and you are going to babysit the bot, talk to your guild, post in trade, or set it and forget it for short periods of time(1-4 hours at a time) I would highly recommend using Honorbuddy.

I am at work so I am typing this fast and it may be a little sloppy, but I hope you get some sort of help from this.
