ALL WARRIORS PLEASE READ THIS! I KNOW IT'S LONG BUT GOOD INFO!
*DISCLAIMER*
All of the statements I make are of my own opinion, based on the resulting data of all the profiles that I HAD AT THE TIME of testing. As it has been brought to my attention there were several other profiles that existed that I did not include in the testing (particularly in the PvP area). I apologize for missing any profiles. Anyone is welcome to post or send me profiles they'd like me to test and I'll be happy to post the results against what I feel IN MY OPINION are the best performing profiles I have.
Intro -
I'm making this post to release the results I've made regarding all the available warrior profiles out there that I've had access to. We had the pleasure of having BossQwertys profiles during DS and his profile was undoubtedly the best I've ever seen. Failroad/BGreen gave us an amazing profile at the start of MoP but unfortunately due to his behavior and strong desire to reap hefty fees for his "elite profiles" has since discontinued his support of the warrior community. We've had a number of profilers that have either started their own profile from scratch or attempted to make improvements and/or updates to existing profiles in hopes of continuing the support of our warrior community and we all thank you for that.
NOW TO ALL MY FELLOW WARRIORS.
I completely disagree with DarkMassacre's statement in the PQR forums regarding that no one elses warrior profiles works as of the latest hotfix for 5.2. As of Friday evening I did EXTENSIVE testing on a number of profiles and they all worked albeit with greatly varying results. Granted a few of these profiles simply needed to have a couple of changes made to them I.E removal of Deadly Calm and a couple of other things. Maybe DarkMassacre isn't knowledgable enough to have realized some of the profiles needed these changes and were never updated to reflect the 5.2 changes hence his statement.
I'm not going to post every single result from every single test I did but basically I took every profile I had access to and did several 360 second tests on the BOSS TEST DUMMY in IRONFORGE using both TG and SMF setups. I chose this dummy so there was no chance of cleaving onto other test dummies via Dragon's Roar thereby inflating the numbers. Dragon's Roar and Bloodbath talents were used. No buffs other than Battle shout were used. Being in a TOP 20 US guild gives me the luxury of a top end gear level so please understand that my dps numbers may be a lot higher than some of yours due to a much higher gear level than you.
RESULTS -
Please understand this was using a high ilvl warrior and these are my opinions based on my own extensive testing. I would like to thank every warrior profiler out there for their hard work and my results are in no way to detract or take anything away from your profile. My goal here is to get out into the open which profiles seem to perform the best based on my testing.
PVP PROFILE -
I'm not a huge PvP'r but based on my testing of 3 PvP profiles I had, Failroad's 5.2 Donor profile performed the best out of the group, even under the conditions that it was released to the public for Arms Warriors for Arena, Battlegrounds and Arms/FC Rated Battlegrounds. It covers a tremendous amount of skill that is involved in playing a warrior. In my honest opinion a casual player can easily reach the 1600-1800's with this profile with decent teammates and with strong team mates can probably reach the 2000-2200 rank. I do however doubt that the profile will CARRY any player to 2200+ regardless of their team mates skill level. I'd like to add that I evidently missed Cokx's PvP Warrior profile somehow after viewing his forum thread, I am eager to put it to the test against Failroads since some of my fellow warriors feel Cokx's is better. As soon as I've had adequate time to put both profiles through testing I will post my results here or possibly a new thread.
PVE PROFILES -
I only tested these profiles as Fury both in a properly gemmed, enchanted and reforged TG and SMF setups. There is some discussion that at around a 502 ilvl PvE Arms is actually performing better in the new tier than either Fury spec but closing in to ilvl 522 all the way to ilvl 535+ Fury will once again overtake Arms with SMF being the superior of the two Fury choices at near BiS+.
Of the profiles tested, the ones that came out reasonable were Nerder's, Gourgas and Nova. These three profiles seemed to do okay but there were times I noticed where the bot at times hesitated or failed to prioritize one ability over another when it should have or sometimes missed using an ability all together. I would classify these profiles as great starts that the profiler put out but either the profiler concentrates more so on other classes (i.e.warriors aren't their speciality and just helped by getting a basic profile out there), or they are new to coding/profiling and just lack the experience and "know how" to truly optimize their code and ability and in time will get to that point.
The two top profiles were Failroad/BGreens 5.2 Donor Profile with the necessary 5.2 patch changes and Replikator's latest profile. I'd like to point out that Replikator's profile is derived from BGreen's profile previous to 5.2 and Rep does post credit to Failroad but in my opinion Rep has made many significant updates, changes and new additions to start making it more of his own profile.
Both profiles performed at a much higher level than the other profiles I tested. On average these two profiles submitted 4k to 12k dps increases over the three other profiles. There are a few differences in these profiles to point out. For example, in Bgreens profile Bloodbath is default set as ON/TRUE whereas when off CD, after each CS, Bloodbath will be popped. This profile also has it use Heroic Throw at the appropriate times. Neither of these are optimal in my opinion. The nice thing though is these are easily toggled on and off or lined out in the code. Rep's profile has included updated logic to several items include Raging Blow/Meat Cleaver usage among other things. Both profiles give you the ability to toggle things on/off and it will all depend on the player's desire to have more or less control over when certain things happen. I.E. on fights like Heroic Horridon, you'd be better off with Bloodbath turned off so you can time it to be used with Reckless and Bladestorm when each sets of adds come out in Phase 1.
My final results and opinion between these two profiles is that Rep's updated profile performs overall better than Bgreens in Single Target dps. On average Rep's profile performed 2-3k dps more than Bgreen's and the maximum dps I put out with Bgreens was just over 88k dps whereas my maximum I put out with Reps was just below 92k dps. Again not to take anything from Bgreen's original code but Rep has certainly stepped in and improved upon Bgreen's code since Bgreen has stepped away from supporting the Warrior community.
FINAL THOUGHTS
If I haven't said it already enough, my post is not to derail anyones efforts on their profiles or say their profiles are bad, etc. My point is to put out facts from rigorous testing performed on all profiles that I did in an environment where the profiles were as close to each other as configuration as possible. I applaud every single person who's made warrior profiles and urge each of you to continue to perfect your profile. There's a huge number of people who love to help with code questions, code suggestions, etc. and I emplore you to take advantage of those people. I'm certainly not a coder but I've taught myself enough from just viewing other profilers code that I've been able to pick and choose things I like that work for me and my style of play. I've even gone as far as in a way combining the things I feel are the best of both Rep's and Bgreen's profile and combined them into my own personal one that performs very well for me and I urge other warriors to do the same.
Should any warrior profilers out there want me to test their profiles please don't hesitate to ask me, I'll be open minded, fair and honest in my feedback. I hope this information and testing results gives people an idea of which profiles are performing the best and still work well. As new and/or updated profiles are released I will gladly test them in the same manner at which I have done this test and put them up head to head against the profile I'm currently using and be happy to share the results publicy or privately depending on what the profiler wants. I plan on doing some more extensive testing between the two top profiles including AOE configurations, etc.and will hopefully get some time to test out Arms profiles too and will post those results as well in the near future.
Thanks to all who took the time to read this and I hope it was informative and beneficial to my fellow warriors.
