    Glider: Common Sense and You

I've noticed an increase in rather noobish botting the past couple of weeks, and felt that a post would be in order to hopefully save some of my fellow members from the wrath and sting of the Blizzard Banstick.

    Glider Don'ts:

-Do not glide without a guild. Join a guild, never say anything, and for the love of all that is beautiful, do not draw attention to yourself. If you have several accounts, invite alts to a guild that you create. (This isn't drastic probably until your late 20's-mid 30's, but a high level character with no guild sticks out like a sore thumb.)

-Do not keep the default glider keymap. Although Blizzard has, to date, no way of searching for the gliding program itself, they can however recognize the default quickbar configuration. Change this immediately, there are several guides out there.

-Do not mention "Glider". Do not mention any word associated with botting, for that matter. At all. Ever. Out of sight out of mind in a sense. When asked how you level so quickly, respond that you found a good leveling guide on the internet (be sure to have one in mind, in the event that they don't believe you.) If you're ever asked about your playing hours (as you may often glide overnight) tell them you have a stay-at-home business, and you're on a WoW kick right now. Lie through your teeth if you must.

-Do not use public profiles. Your chances of getting caught will be greatly reduced if you create your own. (That's not to say you can't use the same places that the public profiles do, just make sure the paths aren't the same.)

    Glider Do's
    :

-Make your profile big. A big profile with sensible paths will go unnoticed. Small profiles are a lot more obvious that you've been running through the same area for a long period of time.

-Make your paths smooth. Try to refrain as often as you can from any kinks in your path, even if you have to manually place the waypoints. An akward turn will look so much more akward when done the exact same way every time. Smoothness is the key.

-Glide in unpopulated areas. Obvious. Self-explanatory.

-Check your glider before leaving it. Although this seems obvious, glider is not perfect. Watch it run your full path at least once. My rule of thumb is to double-check your path. When everything seems sound, check it one more time. Who knows, the extra few minutes could save you from a faulty profile, a night's worth of gliding lost, or even from the infamous banstick.

That should be all, I believe; hopefully this helps some of you, and if anyone has anything else to add, by all means.

    Good luck, people.

    Your day will come.

First of all, I took 15 minutes out of my day to write this thing (I did indeed write it myself.) Some of the points may be similar to other guides because, hence the title, it's common sense.

Secondly, although this guide does address Glider, the points made pertain to all forms of botting. It doesn't matter whether they use glider or some other program, a noobish botter will be hard to miss.

A little less flame next time, thank you.

    Your day will come.

If your caught with glider you will be banned, once in a blue moon Blizz gives a 3 day ban, but don't count on it.

Re: Glider: Common Sense and You

I mean, even though every BOT program etc... has a high risk of ban, i mean its common sense. But i know many people who have used Glider ALOT and still no ban due to the fact they were careful with their waypoints etc...

So take your time before you glide
