There is a program you'll need to download called EZMacros that automates keyboard commands and mouse clicks. This can be gotten at www.ezmacros.com
The current direct download link for the program is: ftp://ftp.americansys.com/amem5a.exe
What you'll be doing is recording yourself performing a set of actions and assigning that recorded playing to a key - I prefer using the plus sign for my macro key. You'll then have your character how he needs to be ingame, and you'll get a weighted object to set on top of that designated key that activates the macro. This will play through the macro then replay it over and over until you take the weighted object off the key. It is easiest to record and use the macro if you run the game in windowed mode. This basically means that you don't want the full screen option on (Options->Display->Performance->FullScreen).
First, how to basically use EZMacros: First hit add macro, choose remember mouse and keyboard, choose press a hotkey to launch macro, choose what key you want to set off the macro when its done (I use the * key on the right numpad), then you'll want the playback speed "recorded" box checked, and repeat set to once. Then you just hit record to do your macro. What you actually do after hitting record is explained below. When you begin recording you will have the WoW window up and running such that it can be seen behind the EZ Macros window just as you're hitting record.
Before you start go into WoW and go into the video options in the menu and turn on windowed mode. You must be running windowed mode to create and use the macro. You will want the camera ingame set behind and above your character as well as completely zoomed out. This way when you spin your character around your view range is very large and it would be easy to both 1) target enemies and 2) click corpses that would fall around you.
--GETTING STARTED--
The macro you will be creating will target enemies, kill them, then loot them and repeat. This can be done with any character, however your macro will depend on what type of character you have and more importantly, what kind of attack you have capable of pulling enemies to you. This is how it will go. You hit record. EZMacros will minimize and without doing anything else you should already be looking at the WoW window and it should be selected. If it is not immediately set as the current window when you hit record, just hit pause then when EZMacros comes back up hit record again. Usually doing that will solve the problem. Alright, time to begin. You will first make your character spin in a circle while hitting tab (tab is the default key to select nearest target). The exact way you will do this is hold down the left arrow key and repeatedly hit tab. This causes him to spin in a complete circle to view everything around him and pretty much guarantee he picks a target to attack. Allow your character to make 2-3 full spins when doing this. Now you will hit the T key. This is the default key for autoattack. Now here is where the macro will split based on your character type:
(I recommend reading all of these regardless of your character type)
--THE FIGHTING--
If you are a caster, you will be using ranged spells. You will simply hold the left arrow key so your character spins in a circle, and repeatedly tap the number keys that are set as hotkey to your spells. For instance, a lvl1 priest has only the smite spell, and by default its hotkeyed to #2. So I would spin by holding the left arrow key and repeatedly tap #2. While your character spins he will repeatedly cast the spell sometimes failing but ultimately getting casts off fairly easily. You are not limited to using just one spell, you may tap all your different spells if you would like. You will continue the spinning/casting until the enemy is dead. You must assume variances in the length of combat so this part of the macro you should do a short while longer than the average battle takes.
If you use bows, you will only shoot once for the initial pull. You will hold the left arrow key for just a moment to make say 1/4 of a turn, then hit your ranged attack hotkey, wait for one second for the attack to go off, then hold the left arrow key for another 1/4 of a turn, ranged attack again for one second, repeat till you make a full circle. This will guarantee you successfully face the enemy in order to pull off one shot to pull it towards you. After completing your full circle and have (hopefully) pulled the mob, you will hit T again while will put the melee auto attack back on. You will then hold the left arrow key and hit any hotkeys you have for melee special attacks until the enemy is dead. Assume extra time for the combat to end.
If you use thrown weapons, you will start by holding the left arrow key and tapping the hotkey for your thrown weapon attack. Do this for a full circle- all that's needed to guarantee your character faces and begins throwing. Once you begin the throwing animation the camera will be locked and you will be facing the target so you can let up off the left arrow key. Wait until your character has thrown his weapon. Now the pull is done. You will then hold the left arrow key and hit any hotkeys you have for melee special attacks until the enemy is dead. Assume extra time for the combat to end.
If you are a warrior without ranged attacks, you will use charge. Hold down the left arrow key and tap the hotkey set to charge. Do this for a full circle- all that's needed to guarantee your character faces and begins charging. Once you begin the charging animation the camera will be locked and you will be facing the target so you can let up off the left arrow key. Wait until your character has thrown his weapon. Now the pull is done. You will then hold the left arrow key and hit any hotkeys you have for melee special attacks until the enemy is dead. Assume extra time for the combat to end.
--THE LOOTING--
You should have no need to rest because you should be fighting very easy enemies. You should be able to skip straight to looting. This is the only slightly challenging part of the macro, and you will likely have to remake the macro a few times to get it right. You will be looking at your character and the corpse will be near your feet. Because of all the spinning, there's no way to tell where the corpse WILL BE after any specific fight. It will be within a given radius at your feet, behind, in front, to the side, who knows. So you will hold shift and begin right clicking all throughout the area where a corpse would land. Shift-RightClick will autoloot a corpse for you. The important thing here is NOT TO MOVE THE CAMERA. I recommend holding the mouse with both hands when you are doing this part of the macro. You must make sure that your right clicks are done without any movement of the mouse- that the mouse is completely still when the click goes in. Otherwise it will very slightly drag the camera which will screw up the macro. With a little trial and error you will be able do this without trouble.
--THE END--
Alright, now you are done. You will hit pause, and the ezmacros window will pop up. Look at the options you have. You'll want to set the repeat to 1 time. Make sure the Playback Speed box named "Recorded Speed" IS checked. Then hit next. You'll be asked for a description... you can type one in or leave it blank, then hit finish. Your macro will show on the list, select it and hit run, then immediately hit pause. This is just to 'prep' the macro because of a small bug I've found. You can now bring back up World of Warcraft and hit the key you designated to the macro. (At the beginning I noted I usually the * key on the right numpad).
Finally, you need to decide where to fight. Obviously you want to setup the macro near enemies that are very easy for you to kill. You can only kill enemies that are melee. With those two specifics, there are still endless places to set up. Auto-aggro enemies (enemies who attack you without provocation) are ok to fight, but non-autoaggro enemies are better.
When the 30 days of using EZMacros is up, you can simply uninstall/reinstall to continue using it. You can continue doing this forever; there's no need to pay to register it.
In very rare occasions EZMacros doesn't work for some people. Mouse clicks may not follow through though you see the cursor move. If this happens, first make sure the game window is the current active window (just click anything in the game if you don't understand that) then run the macro again. If it still does not work, you may just have some bad luck. However, you can simply download any other macro program and there will always be one that works. They're pretty much all the same and after learning how to use EZMacros you should have no problems with another. The directions to actually apply the macro in game will still be the same.
