I guess they see how much active accounts they've got, and vanilla/TBC acounts are really low...

Personaly I started raiding in WotLK (been playing since vanilla, did strictly PvP stuff), so it's a good thing.

The idea of re-releasing oldschool stuff is to stop people from 2-manning while giving them something to do.

Naxxramas did not have a shining moment in classic. One moment it was naxx, the next - BEWM. TBC. Considering how many improvements were made in wrath over bc, and cataclysm over wrath, I would hardly call them lazy. More like they have their priorities straight. Truthfully, how many different ways can you put a warrior in plate armor before designs start to copy? Focus on gameplay, not on the graphics. How real that blade of grass looks will not make or break a game.

"Recycling" old content has it's pro's and cons. It gives people a chance to actually experience the story instead of just smashing through to the boss for a mount. On the other hand, people who have been playing since Vanilla want something new. They've been running the same instances for years now and want something new, which is completely understandable.

In short I see this, new players are fine with reusing old content, it's the older players who have been around the block a few times who are sick of this.

What Blizzard should do is instead of devoting a whole patch to refurbishing, they should add 1 new new one and 1 new old one.

I can understand their point of view when it comes it re-cylcing old content, for example Naxxramas was the Scourge's main base of operations in Azeroth for a long time, bringing it back made a lot of sense. However it was completely in-excusable how they didn't create a proper raid to complement it at the launch of Wrath, or even update it's graphics at all. If they had re-modeled it then it would have been acceptable.

Re-introducing Zul'Gurub makes sense because of the cliffhanger in the Northern Stranglethorn quest chain, however I still find it unacceptable that they haven't updated the geometry.

So really my main complaint when it comes to re-using zones is the re-use of models, there is absolutely no excuse for why they can't add new things, especially armor. They rake in millions of pounds a month and are one of the worlds largest video game companies, there is no way they cannot afford to be producing new art assets for every re-introduction.

Sadly, this isn't going to change any time soon. We can complain all we want but as long as we keep playing, Blizzard is going to keep re-cyling.

That said, there are a LOT of people who started in late BC-Wrath which was around when WoW started gaining mainstream popularity. I didn't get to experience ZG/ZA when they were end-game and I've only ever steamrolled it while farming the mounts at Wrath end-game, it might be nice to get in and go through those places at the level range they are now tuned for. I can see how people who have been playing for a long time feel like they're being shafted though.

I just hope they don't re-use the ugly armor/weapons from ZG and create some new stuff. I also REALLY hope they replace that Panther, seriously.. That's the ugliest mount I have ever seen, it hearkens back to the old Night Elf mounts in ugliness, there's a reason they were replaced.

I'm actually not against re-hashing old content. Blizzard was trying to revive everything that was great about vanilla, and they did a good job. I love how they're re-visiting everything in the old world.

I like the idea of blizzard to bring back ZA and ZG. The reason why I like the idea is because I never seen the challenging side of ZG since I didn't play back in Vanilla. For ZA, I actually like the raid back in BC running it with my friends but when WotLK introduce, no one ran the instance anymore and felt like a waste of space. Which I think most of the old instance that no one ever does anymore is also a waste of space. This is just my opinion.

On the other hand bringing back the mounts from ZG is a nice thing since some people out there weren't lucky. One of my guild member farm ZG from the start of being able to solo the boss with the mount til they remove it and he didn't get the mount as RNG really hates him.

Did they state that the models for all of those are now the final versions, because there was serious discussion at MMO-champ that the panther AT LEAST is a placeholder. and the armani battle bear pic is kinda crap, if you could add a 2nd shot of it (side shot) i think a few of us would appreciate it.
