Any sort of item compass overlay out there?

Is there any sort of compass overlay that points in the direction where items have dropped? I often clear a map first and then have to trek around an empty map looking for drops, which is okay for indoors maps, but it's tedious in outdoors maps. Having some sort of arrow on screen that shows me where I left currency, for example, would be really useful.

poehud has a compass for items that are close by. Getting the compass to work for items out of range would require development work as you'd need to cache the item locations.

what plugin is this compass? I dont see a setting for it in the items are of core.

I thought it was in base and was part of the item filter logic... b ut maybe it is in random features or something?
