Ascent 2.3.0 Server Creation By Herleybob

Winrar
1st - Download and open the application.
2nd - Once open, Click Install, once that is done, a window should pop up, Click Next and then click Done. Now close that folder that opened up. Winrar is now installed.

Repack
1st - Download and Unzip the repack and Place it on your desktop.

SqlYog
1st - Download and open the application.
2nd - Once open, Click next, Check "I Accept the terms in the license agreement." and click next, Click next again, you could change your Install directory, but we are going to leave it the same, Now click next, Now let it install, when done, Click Next, and Uncheck "Run SQLyog Enterprise trial 6.13" and then click finish.

MySql
1st - Download and open the application.
2nd - Once open, Click Next, Chose Typical and click next, Click Install.
3rd - Once installed, A window should pop up and click next twice, and another window should pop up, Check Configure the MySql server now and Click finish.
4th - A new window should have of popped up, Click next, Chose Standard Configuration, and click next, Change the Service name to
"Root" without the parentheses, Click next and change the New Root password and then Confirm to a password you will remember, You will need this for later. Click next, and Execute. Mysql is now done.

Ad.exe
1st - Download the Ad.exe from above, And then place you version of Ad.exe, Or your Language, In the World of Warcraft folder.

And on...

and then make a folder called "Maps" in your wow directory.
Server Files

Once the Etc Repack is on your desktop, Open it up, and you should see a File called "Logonserver.Conf", Open it and Find

Username = "root"
Password = "***"
Name = "Accounts"
Port = "3306"
Type = "1">

Change your pass to the pass you used with Mysql, the one you entered after the Root Username. Now save that file and open up "Ascent.Conf", Find

<WorldDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "***" Name = "Ascent" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
<CharacterDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "***" Name = "Accounts" Port = "3306" Type = "1">

and change the password to the Password you used in setting up MySql.Now save this file.

1st - You should of put the Ad.exe in your wow Directory, start the ad.exe, it will take a little bit of time based on your computer, so let that continue. once that is done, there should be a "Maps" folder in your wow Directory and you should take that folder and drag it to your Ascent Server folder where your .Conf files are.

6th - Now go to your desktop and open your Server folder, go to the folder called "Databases" and right click on "Importer" and go to Edit. Once open, Find

set user = root
set pass = password
set wdb = Ascent
set cdb = Accounts
**********************************************************

and change your password to the password you used in Mysql, and leave the rest the same. Now save that file, <Ctrl>+S, and then start up "Importer.exe" and then Type "W" and then press Enter, wait for that to execute, and then exit the program.

9th - Ok, now we need to start our server, Go to your desktop and Open the folder where your Server is, and then Startup Logonserver.exe and once that says Hooking Signals, Start up Ascent.exe, that should get all the way untill it stops, Now go to Your wow directory and Open a folder called Realmlist.WTF in Notepad, and replace it all with

set realmlist 127.0.0.1
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

This repack includes all the files for 2.3.0, you will just need to take them out of this file. it may require some manual labor to do but...

One problem i found out about this repack.... i cant find the npc again... let me try putting my map in

Did ur ascent.conf and logon.conf match inside?? go look for the remote change like something like that

I'm having a terrible time getting this to work. I'm stuck at steps 2-6, when you add Databases to MySQL and mess with the Importer. When I type "W" into the command and press enter, it keeps saying: "Access Denied for user 'Root@localhost' <using password: YES>". It won't let me do anything. Help?

Is your password the same as when you made it in the Mysql setup, it was after when you entered Root in the username.
