Prevent the pokeball from getting stuck [Iphone Only]
This only works on iphones, since the task bar makes the game pause while it continues to run when android taskbar is activated
1. Get into a fight with a wild pokemon
2. Throw the ball
3. When the ball hits and the camera changes to the 'catch' animation (IMPORTANT!) INSTANTLY open your taskbar (swift up)
4. Wait 3-5 seconds
5. Close task bar
6. Enjoy
If it doesn't work, it's definitely the timing. It seems to be perfect when you can still see the glow and the swirls around the ball. We tested it today on multiple double lurescent pokestops. While others had HUGE problems, we got away with almost 99% catches

It's fine to have one
It's fine to be proud of it.
But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around.
And PLEASE don't try to shove it down my children's throat.

Hmm from what I've read on reddit this is like grabbing the ball when thrown but it doesn't actually save the pokeball, it just looks like that with the animation?

You don't save the pokeball like that. It's not meant to save the pokeball. When the server is on heavy load, you're often stuck in the 'catch' animation and the red light doesn't appear and you gotta restart the game. Espacially when nice pokemons are around you and then you also get login problems, this results in massive frustration. With this technique, you'll be able to get 99% of your catches off even when the server is laggy as f*ck

Can confirm this works. 100% success rate so far at over 100 Pokémon. I think the reason why it glitches out so often is because the game progresses faster than data is sent to and received from the server, so pausing the game by opening the app switcher allows the data to finish transferring and prevents the glitch from occuring.
