    Watermark Removal

A couple weeks ago someone posted a tool (Firem) to remove watermarks from the beta screen.

After I inquired about how he got rid of the watermarks using cheat engine, the thread "mysteriously" disappeared.

So if anyone knows how to find the values and how to keep finding the values with each upcoming patch, it would be greatly appreciated seeing as how I want to make videos about this game, but don't want my beta account deleted.

    So let the discussion begin.

    Method that will always work:
    - Open Wildstar so you're at the login screen and make your window extremely small
(you may need to restart afterwards so it's already that small when you start it).
    - Open CheatEngine, goto ExtTextOutW and write "ret 20" to the first instruction.
    - Login so you're at the char login screen
    - Restore the original instructions
    - Resize your window until you see the text again

    Step 1:

    Step 2:

    Step 3:

    Step 4:
Login and restore push ebp instead of ret 20 (double click ret 20 and put in push ebp). If it asks you to replace with nops click yes.

    Step 5:
    Resize back.

Please note: If you are using the 64-bit client you will need to write "ret" instead of "ret 20" to the address and restore it with "mov [rsp+10],edx" or whatever was your previous first instruction at that function.

Hmm seems that on the 64 bit client replacing the push ebx with ret and then logging in does eliminate the watermark, but I end up with missing characters in the text.

Did you do the resizing trick? And then after you logged in to char selection restored the original bytes? and THEN resize window back to original size.
    That should work.

    Steps for resizing:
    - Make your window as small as you can
    - Close Wildstar
    - Open Wildstar again
    - Note down first instruction of ExtTextOutW
    - Replace first instruction with ret (64 bit) or ret 20 (32 bit)
    - Log in to char selection
    - Restore first instruction (the one you wrote down)
    - Resize your window back to full size
