Fast Leveling 50 to 60 5 mil xp an hour + possible

After the recent changes to Belial and Azmodan me and my friends were looking for a faster way to level to 60. Well we used most of the group multiple turn ins but after the patch we found that to get to 60 from 50 was way to slow with 10k quest turn ins over and over.

So after some research on mob xp and using a place we gold farm we decided to give an XP boost set a try.

What is needed is a decently geared 60 that can AOE well and a level 50 toon that can soak up xp like a champ.

To start we need to gear the 50 with xp gear and found that most pieces in the 50 range run between 20 to 24 xp per kill per piece. We were able to get almost 300xp per kill. We also found a helm with xp boost and added a nice Star Ruby for 25% xp boost.

To begin we had the level 60 start with Act 3 Heart of Sin, Hell difficulty. Our level 50 then joined and we entered Arreat Crater Level 1. Doing a speed clear with our geared 60, the level 50 was able to soak up large amounts of xp due to the larger AOE packs. We tried different methods of clearing the whole quest chain but found farming just Crater Level 1 was quicker and more efficient.

On average most mobs gave 2k to 2.5k xp each and elites giving almost 10k. On a good run we could do a full Crater Level 1 clear in around 6 mins with anywhere to 500 to 800k xp. We averaged 5 mil xp an hour with little to no trouble. Of course the better your 60 is geared the faster the clear and my DH is pushing around 40k dps.

Would this be better than ZK rushing without the +xp gear(or even with just a +xp gem)? Just wondering because this also allows ME to farm while powerleveling.

After level 50, without xp gear, I think this method would be faster than ZK. The amount of mobs in large packs here make this ideal for AOE farming. Its not uncommon to find crawlers in packs of 20 to 40 that give close to 1.8k xp without gear each. Pretty much the only real hinge to this is how fast your level 60 can AOE kill.

Glad I could help and you found it useful. It was amazing to us to watch a full bubble fill in secs on a pack of 40+ mobs, felt like being level 3 all over again.

thanks Volack, gonna give this a try with a friend who just hit 50. I think I'd prefer this method even if it were only a little slower because I get to actually do something and theres a chance for useful loot to drop.

I did this myself on my dh... Bunch of dex crit and crit dmg and +xp gear, and a 2h crossbow with reduced level. Got to 60 in a few hours I believe. Great way to farm gold although I've been trying to move on to greener pastures.

We have just tryed this on Nightmare and it work great too!, we started at level 38 to do it and i works!
next time we will try to do it from normal "very" low level and see if it still works!

Did this on Hell with my friends wizard. We got em from 55-60 in a few hours, maybe less. I'm not sure if it's as efficient as playing the game before hell but I can assure you that this is the fastest xp I've seen once you hit level 50. Remember the "leech" doesn't need stats or anything, just the most +xp and biggest juicy ruby you can afford for that helm, also make sure your "killer" is using AoE stuff to do the fastest run through. After all your killer should be lvl 60 and well geared so using lower damage AoE abilities should still one hit everything in the crater in hell mode.
