DotA 2 High-res Screenshot leak!
So I made a post some days back regarding some images MitH-trust accidentally
released on their website. The images were really low-resolution and did not really
offer anything that special. In the past days, however, I got my hands on some
pretty juicy DotA 2 HD ingame screenshots. The screenshots provide a huge
load of information at once, so please be my guest and take a look!
Screenshot #1 - Lucifer

In this picture you can see Lucifer, the Doom Bringer. As it seems, there are no big
changes in stats and as the minimap shows, the map is pretty much the same
as in the original DotA.
Also the items seem to be pretty similar with the ones DotA players are used
to. In this image no wild guessing is needed to recognize these items: Ironwood Branch,
Healing Salve and Clarity Potion. The stick on the down-middle item slot could be
a Magic Wand, but who knows?
A notable thing is the Quick Buy Shop function in the down-right corner. It seems
DotA 2 is going to have it's shopping system changed to a similar one Heroes of Newerth
(HoN) has.
For what comes to the interface it has some more affecting changes made to it such as
the team and enemy member status bar moved on top, the item bag made 3x2 instead of
2x3, HP and Mana bars moved to more visible place and following the day-night-cycle
has also been made a lot easier (check the middle-top corner).
And now for some more images:
Screenshot #2 - Nevermore and the Tutorial

When I first saw this picture I was pleased of the fact Valve has already completed making
a tutorial on DotA 2 gameplay. This, in my opinion, tells us something about the state
of DotA 2 development process.
Screenshot #3 - Vengeful Spirit and the HoN-like shop

In this image: New level-up notifier, new icons for Urn of Shadows and Boots of Speed and the
filled up topmost hero panel with ultimate skill cooldown or resurrection time indicators.

Screenshot #5 - New Roshan Model

Bonus - DotA 2 Wallpaper made by Kunkka

As what comes to the graphical side of the game, to my eyes DotA 2 looks a way
more cartoonish than WC3 DotA. It might be due to blurred edges and
simplistic UI which is non-typical for Blizzard's games. However the game is made
by Valve and I appreciate the fact they had enough courage to make it look different!
Stay tuned for more information and screenshots as they seem to be
popping-out from all over the web!
