Cannot get SGather to attach.

I recently downloaded SGather for my WoW account so I can make some extra gold. I got it to download and everything however, when I run it, I cannot get it to detect my toon, no matter how many times I hit the refresh button. I read the post on the common solutions to the issues and i did them all and no matter what I do i cannot get it to do anything! all i get is a " - " when I open it, no matter how many times I refresh it. I have tried attaching it when I am at the character selection, logged onto the character I want to farm on, restarted it, everthing. I just dont understand what I am doing wrong. pwease help meh!

It is saying when I try to attach 'Not a valid number!' and closes it. which I understand because " - " isnt a number... but why is it giving me a - and not a number? Am i making a nub mistake?
