Simple Server for me and my friends.

I am currently looking for a guide/tutorial on how to host an own server with lots of spells working, and scripted instances. I have been searching here around the emulator section, but it's getting all dizzy in my head as there is multiple options etc. The Server is only going to be for me and my friends. I will host it on my own computer if that is possible, and we will just raid together and have fun. I will really appreciate any help regarding this. I'm not into these kind of stuff, i hardly know anything about how private server work overall so im just trying to find a easy tutorial/guide

A server with everything working.... good luck.
I would suggest Trinitycore if you don't need to code.
Cause it's written in c++.
Otherwise go arcemu but it's buggy.

Im fully aware of that there isn't a server with everything working, but i think theres some server with mostly working things.

Regarding Trinitycore, arcemu c++ etc, i know little of these things. Shall I search on this site for that stuff or is there specific sites for example Trinitycore?

Mangos & TrinityCore is the emulation servers that got the most of things working, but if you're looking for more customization options; go for arcemu.

TrinityCore has almost everything working and is extremely blizzlike. You should definatly go for this if you are going to put the effort in. It's quite hard to setup in comparison with ArcEmu but when you do eventually get in game, it is defiantly worth it. The commands can be a bit confusing but you can change them from the database.

ArcEmu has practically nothing working compared to TrinityCore, but if your looking for the easy option or want to do stuff fast, or looking to heavily customise, go for ArcEmu.

Both of these emulators are coded in C++, but ArcEmu has a addon-language called Lua (which is very easy to do the basics in). Both emulators use a SQL database (use a program such as navicat or sqlyog community to access and control) and there are a few various ports you will need to open for others to be able to connect. You can find more guides in the guides section or on the emulators website. There is some basic information that can be found on the wiki.
