just wondering setting up an botting account right now obv i won't be using the same name or email as my legit account but do they ban ipadresses aswell in wich case i would need to buy vpn services thanks

They only ban accounts from my knowledge to get more money when people buy new CD-keys to start a new account :P

despite people above claiming they dont, no one actually knows.
most people dont worry about IP's, but some people swear that they have been. The short answer is take whatever precautions you want.
I have heard of some bans that must be IP based - ie new accounts not even 1 day old banned along with botted accounts. however those people are gold farmers so have 10-15 off one ip.
Blizz also record your HDD numbers, mac addresses. (check EULA for what they record)
If your main is irreplacable, then take extra precautions. be very carefull how you transfer gold from your botted acc to your main too.

Your safe on your IP, once you start botting with more accounts then start taking precautions. By more I mean 10+
