Need PS help

I'm trying to get some textures into wow. I delete the background from the pictures them save them as a .tga but when it saves it puts the background back on. I think i have my background settings wrong and I'm not really deleting the background or something. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm trying to put some graphics in wow with something like discord art. Something like this http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thu...ent_vector.jpg
for example. Well i know how to do that with dart but see that white background, i want that off. So i open up the image and crop it. Then I make a new blank image and paste my cropped outline of the graphic on there. But I still have my white background so i use the magic eraser tool to delete it. Now i have a .psd with just my graphic on it and no background. But to use it with the add on i must save it as a .tga but once i do this it puts my white background back on automatically so in game it shows up with a white background. I hope this is clear, sorry if its not.

In another thread I posted a response that I think may solve your problem:

Set the background layer to transparent and when you save it, save it as a gif.

Basically open a new canvas, size it what you need for the image you will be saving. Make the settings of the image when you make it "Transparent" rather than Background or White.

From there paste in any image you'd like based on a transparent background, and then save it as a gif. (The screenshot shows the save settings)

This always works with .png but I use .gif myself. No real difference, just different image compression ratios.
