Stoneridge City was a large, powerful bastion - easily matching that of Stormwind and Stratholme. Before the summoning of Ragnaros via Thaurisan, it was tucked away directly behind Stormwind, acting as it's sister, within the mountains of Redridge (Now the Burning Steppes). However - with the summoning of Ragnaros came widespread destruction, and along with the Redridge countryside, the Stoneridge City was also taken. Amazingly, the wildlife and forest surrounding the city to the West was left unscathed (the Stoneridge Pass), along with a back-road into the city, is left a memento of the beautiful mountains and forests of Stoneridge.
Moreover, the entire shape of the terrain was re-formed during the summoning. What is now the crater stood a great cathedral of light - representing the armies of Stoneridge. Once-great districts, burned-trees, even peopel turned to stone by the semi-sundering can be found throguhout the Western Mountains of the Burning Steppes.
There's a lil' bit of the TFE lore behind this world build it IS a work in progress, so please do take that into account. Only one of the ADTs has had doodads inserted (6 ADTs in total). Bushes, Detail, fences, etc will be added. There is a turn-off, leading to the Eastern Thunderfalls river, as can be seen in the pictures. Therefore, this could also serve as a way into the Burning Steppes from Elwynn.
I will be building the once-great city, along with the Redridge / Burning Steppes Area change. For now, take a look at these pictures taken in-game
