Not that I want it enabled since I'm using PP's awesome hack but I'm just curious. Does Mythic think it would slow down the game? Too bothersome with updates and such?

Good question. :S
Well, not only is it a bad choice for an MMORPG (one that has performance issues without it), it's a bad choice in general.
I'm thinking they're working on a custom anticheat system, but I doubt it's one of their primary priorities. Hacking is hardly an issue in RvR. Who cares if someone teleports to town after a quest?
Speed hackers and Melee, not fun in rvr lol.
PB causes more problems for legit players than it does for cheaters, you can easily find step by step guides on creating simple undetected hacks for a few different PB games with cheat engine.
I've wondered myself why they havent enabled PunkBuster yet, granted its a PoS and will never stop private hacks. But then again which anti-cheat does?
And I dont think cheats are that big of an issue in RvR, I dont see a lot of them and even if I did I wouldnt really care that much. Cheats dont seem to be a big issue at all in WAR, even though they exist.
Well the answer is quite simple: the war devs are lazy bastards. There are stuff that were bugged in beta and still are.

Like the White Lion class for instance....
My thoughts on this is that they update the client so much PB would more then likely detect it as a cheat and would bring the game to it's knees. If they update the client then they have to update PB and thats just WAY too much work for the ppl who have nothing better to do then switch offices every 5 weeks or so.
it's on.
/pnkb in patch
IMO it's because even hackers subscribe. Since hackers are very few they just took it for granted. They don't have time to waste resources on a bunch of hackers do they? They just suspend them, which i find convenient instead of perma ban... Basically it's because theres money involved here, unlike FPS like COD4 you get to play online for free.

First of all, they don't just suspend you. If you get caught hacking/botting/whatever it's permanent.
Secondly, wtf? So, in a game, where you pay monthly, they can't afford an anticheat. But in a game where playing online is free they can? Great logic.
