    Making server Public Problems - Read here

    I have had this problem time and time again so i figure i would post here since i dont see any threads about this issue. there is plenty of threads that explain how to make it public but what they do not tell you is. You have to have your ports open in order to make it public. will give link at end.

    Logon - ( should look like this )
    <Listen Host = "0.0.0.0" <---0.0.0.0 means listen to all hosts(ips)
    ISHost = "0.0.0.0" <---0.0.0.0 means listen to all hosts(ips)
    RealmListPort = "3724" <-- (3724) port that needs to be open
    ServerPort = "8093"> <--also

    <Client MinBuild = "9551"
    MaxBuild = "9999"><--- makes server available to 3.0.x users

    <LogonServer RemotePassword = "ascent" (ascent) mysqlpsw i
    AllowedIPs = "127.0.0.1/32" <--Local Host
    AllowedModIPs = "127.0.0.1/32"> <--Local Host

    Realms -

    <LogonServer Address = "127.0.0.1" <-- the ip the logon server is located on (which is local host ip)
    Port = "8093"

    <Realm1 Name = "Funserver"
    Address = "127.0.0.1:8129" <--change 127.0.0.1 to your DNS or IP
    Icon = "PVP"
    Population = "1.0"
    TimeZone = "1">

    World -

    <Listen Host = "0.0.0.0"
    WorldServerPort = "8129">

    then after you saved all that Start Mysql>apache>Logon>world

    If you get a error in Mysql saying its already running press alt+ctrl+del and close all sql processes you can find and try again.

    As i said before This does not ALWAYS work for everyone. Ports will need to be opened to make people be able to connect to your server. your port is most likely closed and not allowing traffic to your wow server if you did everything correctly on the world logon and realm files. when you go to the web page it will show you a list of routers and modems(dsl/cable) then from when you click on the correct one you have it will guide you through on how to open your ports. The ports that you will need to open are all listed in the config files just right them all down and then open the ports one by one. Make sure you right a list of which onse you already have opened.

    There you go =) hopefully i was of some help to some people. if anyone finds this confusing please list where so i can edit it for others please.

    Wrong Section, btw.
    This thread should be located in the Emulation Guides.

    Btw, it works well, so i must say that this is kinda useful.

    Just One Realm

    but i read on other topics that its probably because i'm using the same computer as the one with the server on, so i should use another computer
    I think thats absurd, i am sure i can log with the same computer ...

    w8ing for ur reply,
    Karim

    i had this problem as well and i found out something important ... if you do screw on the config files, be sure that you will have problems connecting.

    sometimes i had that problem and i kept trying and trying and disconnect and connect until i was able to get in the game on the same computer.

    now this didn't happen to me lately but i spent a lot of time trying to set up the config files in more detail.

    @rejlii : Thanks again for ur reply

    @florinel76 : I think i understand ... but can u be more precise ... also if u tell me what u did when it happened with u

    + could be something in the repack??

    and if it helps, i can log ONLY when i set all the IPs to the localhost (127.0.0.1)
    other than that my friends can log but i can't =S!

    Hi Kimo, I'm not sure wether you've tried this or not, i read your post and it's not mentioned,

    Try setting your realm ip to your local lan IP.

    here's how if you're not sure how to get it (assuming you have Windows)

    Start--> Run, Type in "CMD" then the Enter Key

    a command prompt will open (Black box with a couple lines inside)

    Just type in "ipconfig" then Enter Key

    you will get your information there

    If using WindowsXP/2K: the line you're looking for is "IP Adress":
    If using Windows Vista: The line you're looking for is "IPV4":

    ... most ppl will have an adress that looks like 192.168.X.X

    That will be your Local IP adress.

    One thing i forgot to mention, if the local ip for you doesn't work, set it back to your external ip What Is My IP Address? - IP Address Lookup, Internet Speed Test, IP Info, plus more (will give you your external IP),

    but what's important for you on the inside is to edit your realmlist.wtf and change the line

    set realmlist xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (replace X's by your external ip)

    reason being that even if you are local, the server is awaiting authetication from external ip's, so it won't allow you to log on if you're local.

    Hope that helps, good luck, keep us posted.
