Can't fint a tutorial for nubs

Hey guys. I'm kinda noob and I would like to know if there's a guide describing all the aspects of the programs involving a WoW private server. Like I don't know what a repack is. I mean, I don't have mysql installed, yet I can still have others connect to my server through Hamachi so whats the use of Mysql? What is the DB and other ground rule things like that. I really want to learn and if someone knows an answer please share so that in the future I can help others also.

A repack is basically someone taking code, compiling it into an exe, adding other* people's work and tools into a package, either zipping it up or something and then releasing it.
Usually these don't contain their own work.

Hamachi is a program which allows you to have a private network meaning they connect to the private ip address it provides and it redirects them to your ip.

Chances are you have mysql installed and if you've installed a repack it probably installed it for you maybe without you realizing.

You have to have some database to be running a server using, Mangos or Ascent.
,Mysql is a database, which you are required to have if you're using mangos or ascent.

thnkx for clearing up some stuff for me =D (+rep). I have Arcemu and I think that's ascent. I've been trying to work navicat, but my servers never connect. Well I guess I'll keep reading more guides. Btw any1 know a way to find the coordinates of where you are like the map id, x, y, and z?

You need to edit your config files and change

5.212.216.124:8093
to
127.0.0.1 or your external ip

yea but 5.212.216.124:8093 is my hamachi so ppl can join. If i change it wont it b only local?

Still, I think you need to put it to your local IP Address and put the hamachi address in the realm.conf, I use mangos so I don't know really about arcemu, hope this helps you.
