    [How To] Obstacle Courses

To create an obstacle you should decide on what game objects your going to use, the design of the obstacle, and the location.

1.To find game objects you could either do one of the following:

    a. Go on wowhead, thotbot, or any other WoW database website and find the game object you want.

To get the game object ID go to the URL and look near the end for it.

    OR

    b. You could make your own game objects using this guide by "OMGPWN"
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...ects-game.html

    2. When deciding on the design of the obstacle you should think about the following:

    • Height - How high it will be, this is important because if it is too high a player might fall and die (Unless it is over water). If you want to make it high so that when a player falls, they die you should place a graveyard nearby.
    • Overall Length - Is the obstacle too long? and will players be able to finish it? You can easily test this by trying the obstacle yourself, if something seems to hard, try making it easier.
    • Do NOT make the obstacle overlap or players may find ways to cheat and may end up skipping half of the course.

    3. Location - When choosing a location you will have to think about the obstacle design again. Does the location provide enough space so that the obstacle isn't cramped? Does it provide a safe landing (Note: this is optional)? Will players be able to PvP in it? Are there ways of cheating?

    Some good locations:

    • Bootybay
    • Tanaris
    • Hyjal
    • GM Jail
    • Emerald Dream

These are only a few examples and you are not limited to these.

    4. Once you have finished all these steps, it's time to spawn the obstacle! These are the few basic commands on doing this:

.go spawn <ID> 1 (Note: the 1 after the ID tells the server to save the gameobject)
    .go select
    .go delete
The commands are very straight foward and easy to use, you should not have any problems with this.

Upon finishing the obstacle, I strongly suggest that you test it several times to ensure there is no way of cheating and the obstacle is not impossible. Also, you could choose to place a vendor at the end to reward players who finish the obstacle. This tool made by "Mysterioussoul" makes creating vendors easy.

It always seemed stupid to put a vendor at the end of an obstacle course. Players could just fly-hack up there and get the vendor...

It was just a suggestion for begginers.. Ofcourse there are other ways, but that is the easiest way to do it.
