    Regarding Open

    i am getting the pID of the WoW.exe fine (pID)

    but i notice that my code call to OpenProcess below does not get ahold of the handle for some reason? also, i notice that some of my programs i use for hacking (such as structbuild) don't even list WoW.exe as a running process?

    OpenProcess(#PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS,Null,pID)

    does the game somehow protect or block access to this info? Do i have to modify some rights or privileges or something? if so what/how?

    i cannot get my ReadProcessMemory and WriteProcessMemory operations to work if I cannot get the handle.

    any help would be appreciated.

    my method for getting the handle works for zillions of games i have hacked before so WoW.exe must be doing something tricky here-

    WoW does not do anything to prevent opening it's memory or handle.
    Are you sure that you are not getting a valid handle? Because you do need extra privileges to open the memory itself (with readProcessMemory)!

    EDIT: What language do you use? You can get a c++ source at http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-me...ct-dumper.html ... maybe it helps

    thanks for the quick reply. i did have to adjust the token priviledges for the wow.exe process to be able to access it's memory-

    AdjustTokenPrivileges() api call

    anyways, this lets me find the base address of all .dll's and the .exe itself as well as be able to read/write:

    thanks for the posting anyways!
