DotA 2 First Preview and a Competition for $1 Million USD!

**on August 17th 2011. **The preview will be held as a tournament between the
**world's best sixteen DotA teams:
**GGNet-MYM -Na'Vi -CCM -LGD -TyLoo -OK.Nirvana.int -M5 -nevo -Scythe.SG -MUFC -Mineski.Infinity
**The prize for winning is incredible total of $1 MILLION USD!
**The tournament will be broadcast in four languages (Chinese, German, Russian,
**and English) free of charge.

“The International is the first public Dota 2 event and will give the tens of millions of gamers playing Dota around the world their
first look at the new game,” said Gabe Newell, president and founder of Valve. “I have had the good fortune to watch the competitors

In addition to the cash prizes awarded by Valve, NVidia is providing all the hardware for the event.
Dota 2 will be available for the PC and Mac later this year.

Testing server 'leak'

People have managed do dig up information of the server where some of the DotA 2 testing is done in:
- Server name appears to be “VALVe dota Server #x (srcds156)" (Yes, it's VALVe instead of Valve).
- Game's name is “Defense of the Ancients”
- The maximum player limit is 12 meaning that there will probably be either 2 spectators [or a possibility for 6v6 matches].
