Pokemmo and your thoughts

We wanted to ask all you pokemon players if we should add in a new forum for pokemmo. What is pokemmo some of you might ask?

Pokemmo has been around for many years and has taken what we all wanted but never got... A place to play/enjoy pokemon with our friends and many other people! They offer duels/tournaments/rank system/spectate/Auction house and much much more! They have pokemon from gen1-3 along with 16 badges, 2 elite fours and a huge world to explore! They have an ingame stats system so you can easily see the pokemons iv/evs and moves it can learn and what level they learn them. At this point you are probably thinking how much is it, is it pay to win and many more and honestly its 100% free! They have a cosmetic shop and few other things that dont make any difference in game play/advantage.

Never played PokeMMO, instead played Pokemon Revolution Online but this actually looks awesome. I like the UI of this game a lot more and I haven't even played it yet.

I played Pokemon Revolution but the UI seems so, i'd say, too much..

Well i cant see the harm in adding one The way i see it, is if theres a place to talk about it and share things then theres more chance of people taking up the game. Adding in the hype over Go, i'd think many will at least try it.

It wouldn't hurt to add more right? PokeMMO is quite a popular game more now than before. I think if we need a section to help more people get into the game if possible a guide to installing the game with the needed roms and such. Any hacking tools, buying Pokemon dollar, high level Pokemon, trading accounts etc. could be here also.

Edit: On further thought the Pokemon GO forum is a bit bare, wouldn't it be better to rename this as Pokemon and add other titles like the upcoming Sun and Moon game coming out this year, pokemmo and any other popular Pokemon games to that?

I think it is important to assess the popularity of a game over a period of time before adding new sections as well as current demand on the forums. For example the following cases are some I would consider required new sections on the site

- A new very popular game (i.e. Pokemon Go)
- A game which has outgrown the non game specific categories of the site (i.e. ?)

I am sure that riding the Pokemon Go this could be somewhat used for a brief time but I doubt there will be much popularity and thus just be a dead section in the long run. But I don't think that the game fits any of the above besides this and should be confined to the general MMO section until it has outgrown that section on its own right.

I've been participating on and sometimes running quite large forums for almost 20 years now. The one universal constant in success is that there has to be a demand for forum-a forum will not pick up demand. No one posts to a dead forum. So, if there is existing discussion on general forums and a number of contributors who seem likely to keep it alive, then it is a good idea. Otherwise, no.

Pokemon is a total mystery to me I'm afraid so I can't comment further....
