I am curious if anyone has insight into the Ingress ban method. I know its automated but cannot seem to figure out what might actually be triggering it.
I recently got a ban on Ingress after I started spoofing pokemongo stuff and decided to try the same methods in that game. Obviously it didn't go well.
So now I am curious what in Ingress that I did actually triggered the ban.
Right now a few minutes ago I created a new account and am spoofing into a large tourist area to see what I can get away with until I am hit with a ban. Hopefully giving some sort of insight into what could cause you to be banned in Go for spoofing assuming they wind up with a similar system.
Phone is a nexus 6 rooted ..with xposed fused location is off mock mock locations and hide mock are both enabled. xprivacy is enabled and is blocking ingress from seeing my identification, system, network , storage (Ive heard ingress will check to see if you are running xposed and that is grounds for a ban itself.)
Banned: 11:05 PM.. Just short of level 5. I think I had been playing for roughly 2 hours at this point as I started another account in another location and opted to switch to this one.
I was making my way around Washington DC at 5kmph doing missions. I had actually made it to mission #23 of 30 in an ingress banner doing nothing that to me would indicate that I am not a real person besides the fact that i'm supposedly walking around DC at 11 pm playing a game.
I had to double back on the route I had planned to get a portal I had missed and suddenly I had a completely blank map. I tried to force sync thinking maybe the internet just had a hiccup and that got me nowhere. Finally checked the email I had signed up with and found my account termination email.
In case anyone is curious what a niantic ban email actually looks like.
