I think judging by all the research I've done.
#1 there are a lot of threads about save or make sure you have a Chancey.
#2 We know there is going to be a big update soon.
#3 There has also been talk about using certain market places for a pokemon center to heal, trade, and battle players. Allowing a safe public place for family's.
Etc... Starbucks, McDonalds...

At least that is why they say to save your Chancey pokemon.

I don't know how accurate I am but if Starbucks received that email I'm willing to bet other major companies have as well.

On the 8th there will be some sort of "new" pokemon within the game. Starbucks is set to sponsor this event. Other businesses could also be sponsoring an event on that day. Build-A-Bear announced, that on December 8th, it will begin carrying Charmander as a plush. Speculations for the event are that it COULD be Gen 2, since it is already in the coding with attacks. The other thought is it may be legends. The drink coming out seems to be a purple/pink drink. This could signal Mew or Mewtwo. The initial leak was that it would be "Pokeman 2" promotion. This is what initially got people thinking about Gen 2. A celebration of the second generation of pokemon. However, I think with legends still not being available in game, the pink drink, and the pokemans 2 leak, it points to MewTWO. In my completely speculative opinion, Mewtwo seems like the more viable choice. Remember, everything you see online is completely speculation. There is nothing to suggest it IS Gen 2, a legend, or shiny pokemon.
