First of all, I've been searching everywhere for a proper and comprehensive guide to setup proxy for Pokemon bots for quite sometime and was out of luck. Piecing bits and pieces of information from the internet, I have managed to finally understand how proxy are setup and here's my guide for it and i hope it helps out those who are looking for such info as well.
NOTE: This setup guide is only for private proxy only. From my own experience, 99% of those public proxy out there will not work and those that work would eventually fail quickly as more people discovers and uses it as well.
This guide is for those who wants to run several bots at a time using one IP address that otherwise would trigger an IP ban .
STEP 1: LOOK FOR THE CHEAPEST PRIVATE PROXY PROVIDER
- Search the internet for keywords such as private proxy etc. In my case, I've tried several and currently the only one that is working great for me is:
- Be wary of dodgy looking site that may offer cheap prices but lack one key required feature for Pokemon bots to work, and that is HTTP(S) or Socks 4/5. in this case, BestProxyAndVpn has the feature I am looking for.
STEP 2: PROXY IP AUTHENTICATION SETUP (Based on BestProxyAndVpn)
- Click on SETUP, and you will enter into CONFIGURATION.
- Next, make sure the PROTOCOL is set to Http/Https
- Next, you may setup your proxy AUTHENTICATION (username & password). Copy those details as you will need it later. This step is optional in some bots.
- Click SAVE
- Next, click on AUTHORIZED IPs
STEP 3: AUTHORIZED IPs
IMPORTANT NOTE: This section must be updated to the current IP that you plan to bot on if you have two locations or more with different IP (eg: Home and Office)
- Each proxy can be tied to 1 IP address. Your current IP address is displayed next to the LOGOUT button
- Click on ADD NEW IP and then click AUTODETECT IP and it will insert your current IP address.
- Click SAVE
STEP 4: LOCATIONS (optional)
- Click on PREFERRED LOCATIONS to select the location you wish to use the proxy from.
- Click GET NEW IPs once you selected your preferred location.
NOTE: For me, since there is no location from my own country, I can only use the closest one. Do note that there is always a risk of running proxy that does not originate from the origin country, but so far all my accounts has been safe since 2nd Nov 2016 botting for 12 hours a day with lvl 29 - 32.
STEP 5: COPY YOUR PROXY IP (and Authentication details)
- First return to HOME and click on YOUR IP
- COPY your PROXY IP with the PORT NUMBER and get ready your AUTHENTICATION login from STEP 2
- As I am using PokeFarmer bot, launch it and go to SETTINGS > NETWORK. This step should be similar to other bots that provide proxy function.
- Paste the PROXY IP into the HOSTNAME and fill in the rest accordingly. Press OK
- Start your bot and it will now connect using your new proxy IP.
- Now you can run two bots (1 with your current IP address and 1 with your proxy address) or more depending on the amount of proxy you purchased.
CONCLUSION: I hope this guide would help those out there who are still figuring out how to setup proxy for botting. Feel free to point out any mistake in my guide and I'll correct it. Let me know if you face any problem and I'll try my best to help you out .
Well, botting in general is already a huge risk. Proxy would just allow you to run additional bots without IP banned but it's not 100% ban-proof. Just enjoy the botting while you can
how's this bot Pokefarmer?
best from pokebot ninja?
So far so good with it, the devs is quite active and I've been botting 24 hours a day for 2 weeks straight now with 4 accounts ( lvl 29,30,32 & 28 ) without any ban until now.
Exp/hr might be slow due to the humanization of the bot to lower ban chance.
As for Pokebot Ninja, I have not used it yet so I can't comment on the comparison
