Last night I was able to walk 7km in my bed in about 2 hours.
All I did was restart my app and or phone over and over again till it threw my player location in an area within 3 blocks. Then I turned on "airplane mode" and it seemed to "hold" me in that location for a little longer. In addition, wifi mode would start to move my player back to the "correct" location (or teleport me if I didn't turn it off fast enough) since it's more accurate than LTE/4G.
Turing airplane mode / wifi off and on while pacing around my room a little seemed to bug it out too.
The only extra thing I did was download the offline googlemaps of my area. Deleting this may or may not improve results.
I'm posting this here in hopes that someone else will mess around with their phones connection options for a more reliable way of getting the GPS to report inaccurate locations to go to areas outside of your home.
