As you may, or may not have noticed, Blizzard has implented ads on the WoW US forums. The ads are from stupid T-shirts, not even for their own products! I understand that Blizzard is a company, and making money is what companies do. We are paying customers though, we all pay €13/month and since that is a subscription I have really lost faith in Blizzard now. They try to make money out of everything and it is becoming more and more clear that they only care for money, not for the players. If Blizzard keeps on going like this, I'm thinking WoW will die within a few years.
The website now looks like this:
But!
We are from MMOwned, we cheat, we hack, we exploit, we remove ads!
Internet explorer
Go to Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable and click on the "Free Download" button.
Follow steps below.
Firefox
Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/521 and install that. Restart Firefox.
Go to the WoW us forums and right-click somewhere in your screen, doesn't really matter, I clicked on the ad itself and select "Remove from this website"
Now you must click to the right of the ad and select "Remove this permanently" (The area you're about to remove will get red borders before you click).
Voila, now your page looks like this again:
Google Chrome
(Taken from WoW US forums)
1.) Install Privoxy (Privoxy - Home Page )
2) Click on the Wrench icon in Chrome in the upper right corner
3.) Choose options>Under The Hood>Change proxy settings
4.) A windows box pops up, choose LAN settings (at least this is what it's called in Vista)
5.) Check off "Proxy settings" and in the address setting add127.0.0.1 and in the port 8118
6.) If you have the option, you can also check off "Bypass proxy for local settings"
7.) Click "Ok", close chrome and restart it.
Enjoy your adfree browsing
