Rep comments as PMs

I think it would be cool to make it so that when someone gives rep to you, it sends a copy of the information (who, how much rep, the comment, the thread, etc.) in a PM, so that not only would it be easier to save that information (for people who like to save that sort of thing, like me) but so that people using forum apps on mobile devices can know when they receive rep, since there currently isn't a feature that shows rep gains on tapatalk.

The only negative thing I could see to this would be what if a user gets a lot of rep (say 10 people give 1 point each to a leecher whose inbox only goes to 5.), what would happen then? Would they just not get the PM's? And also if you don't have that much PM space and you end up running out without realizing it, people won't be able to PM you until you realize it's full, then clear it.

Otherwise though, great idea, I like it.

Correct, inbox space and the effective pm spam would be the things we'd have to figure out and consider.

Perhaps a more informative reputation page would be suitable for something like this. It would solve the spam problem, and you'd have all your reputation info stored in one page.

rep report... if you got rep this day you will be informed and get an overview. so you will not be spammed but get an information.

I agree, rep report or rep instant feed, both to your inbox. As for the inbox getting full, there should be some type of notification, as many users have no idea their inbox is full. Or make rep notifications expire in some hours.

Maybe you can "push" a notification to tapatalk? Tapatalk doesn't support "You just got repped by bla bla" page but it might support a notification where it says +x rep from Y so you know you got it. You'd still have to open site for full overview, but at least you'd know right away. Not sure how Tapatalk works, but should be doable.

It would be cool to have a page with all the reputation statistics, so you can keep track of it easily tho.
