Live Streaming Tab

I had made this discussion previous in the box, and it had some positive feedback, so I thought I would take it to the Suggestion board and mention as well.

This community is a HUGE gaming community both for all facets of play-styles and games. I feel as though with the growth of live streams lately, there would be a large fellowship from this site to view these various feeds. My idea would be to basically add in an additional tab next to the "Upgrade" tab for a "Live Streams" tab. Players could go and view some of their favorite OwnedCore exploit, explore, pvp, or whatever is in mind.

There could be a staff position as a "Live Stream Moderator". This would basically be an individual to oversee the growth and expansion of Live Streams on the site. Members could submit trial footage, or have the moderator view them live in action to apply for a position on the site. There could be a section on the tab for "OwnedCore Verified Streamer", whom is an individual that has been reviewed and accepted by the staff, or there could even be an "OwnedCore Paid Streamer". Someone whom pays for the higher spot on the stream list. Ideally, you have the three sections in the tab: OwnedCore Verified Streamer (The top streamers verified and accepted by admins, and adored by the community), OwnedCore Paid Streamer (and individual who utilized core coins to promote his stream, and work closer towards becoming the higher rank), and an OwnedCore Streamer (Just a typical streamer, someone who wants a place to stream, but is not promoted in any way). This could create a proper hierarchy system to grow as a stream within the community. The other method to this madness would be to Create just a Verified Streamer and a Paid streamer to try to limit the amount of streams and viewer spread. This new use of corecoins could help generate more revenue, bolstering the community further into success.

I also believe that this could even bring in a new market of players. People typically come here for guides, exploits, hacks, selling services, but many people go to other websites in order to watch live streams. I know that I personally view streams on other sites, only for their streams, not their content. Why not try to bring those people here, or bring all their attention solely back to this site, rather then spreading it out.

This community can offer players nearly everything, but this is just a suggestion on one more thing that I feel would be beneficial to the community.

I really, really like this idea. Although maybe there could some how be a way to perhaps buy a "company or group" section?

I have a large group of people who I work with and they all stream pretty much on a regular basis - So it would be cool to get all the streams listed in one area perhaps? Just a thought anyway.

To be frank this is kinda a generic idea since most of the sites out there already have this sort of "features" and in my own eyes kinda of a "MEH" thing. And also people could "spy" on other stuff not necessary for the sake of "EDUCATION" This is just my 2 cents on this matter

Thank you for this thought out suggestion. Live streaming has always been an idea but for me it has always been a matter of how it could be compelling for OC, which is exploits, bots and programs. I am personally more of a fan of watching or listening to good discussions or interviews. What OC would have to do to make it worth it, is to offer live streaming as a service in hopes that it would be utilize in a popular manner that sets us apart from others.

Ya, there should be something that makes it different from all the rest... Perhaps make Fisher interview someone weekly :P I must find more work for him heh...

I know a lot of people do it, but I do get obsessed in watching players explore personally... Would be great to have a variety of games, might spark interest in more games that players don't even know of.

Allow your users to stream without restrictions ( hacks, exploits, etc ) with the potential to record short clips.

Say user A makes a hot new thread about an exploit but doesn't have screenshots or video proof, we're always looking for proof.

User B notices hot thread, has the game and wants to try it out. Clicks "Livestream for this thread". He does the exploit and has the choice upon closing the stream to allow the original poster to update his thread with a segment of his stream.

User C joins the thread and see the first post, along with a thumbnail of the stream imbedded in the first post. The user should have the option of watch the stream and keep reading the exploit to understand what user B is trying to do.

There's so many variations of win-win scenarios you could get out of that. It also goes hand in hand with core coin and reputation. IE: Raise the incentive for the community to work as a team and give 50% of the rep received by user A to user B for contributing.

teamliquid has a simple list of links to users streams on an embed page + link to the real channel.

I don't personally watch streams (I don't have so much spare time and if I had, I would prefer to play the game myself rather than watch others), but I fully support this idea. I think it has big potential to benefit our community in ways we cannot imagine yet. Give community a tool and watch wonders happen. +rep for Seph and +vote for this idea
