Trolling Is gettnig bad

Trolling and straight up violations of the site rules stated in the guidebook are getting pretty bad in some areas of the forums.

most specificly, Diablo 3 General, Diablo 3 Exploits/Elite Exploits, Diablo 3 guides. im sure theres more, these are just the places i notice it most of all.

flipping is for noobs , just my opinion, i earned my 2 bill legit through farming.

Rude people are going to make less folks want to post. less people posting = more chances of missing out on something amazing someone finds.

i try to report them as i see them, and give a detailed explanation as to why, but nothing ever happens to these posts. they just sit there. and with the 2 min you have to wait between reporting posts... you end up needing like 15 to 20 minuites to report all the douches in some posts.

in my opinion, mods and such need to step up and swat these trolly kids down hard, before acting like jackasses becomes the norm.

i try to report them as i see them, and give a detailed explanation as to why, but nothing ever happens to these posts. they just sit there. and with the 2 min you have to wait between reporting posts... you end up needing like 15 to 20 minuites to report all the douches in some posts.

I do report them. nothing happens. there was a thread where a guy was trying to work out if anything (loot, mob placement, random champ packs) could be determined by server IP address, and there was 6 pages of (mostly) troll replies, before a mod closed the thread because HE thought it was stupid. thing is, everyone assumed from the title op thought certain IP addresses = more loot, but the OP was trying to determine if certain IP addresses = more champ packs.

seriously, go read some of the the threads in the areas I've linked.

aaaaaand TheVoyager shows that he speaks out of his ass and knows NOTHING about why things happen here on OwnedCore.. If you are going to throw facts around, at least get it straight.

I DID read your post and one of the threads was cleaned up.Regarding reports, it is not my issue that you have not read the information on how to report multiple threads and get around the postcount limiter (Post the different links to the posts in one report and TADAAAAA it only takes 25 seconds.

That being said, we are somewhat understaffed atm due to summer and such, therefore, it is clear that the forums may NOT be as tidy as usual. Specially considering that we still have a lot of visitors, a lot more than 6 months ago.

1: A reduction on the report button wait timer by 50%. to prevent abuse, you could require a certian reputation threshold (80, as an example.)

2: some type of automated system that, for every x posts reported (that a moderator agrees is a reasonable report) you could get 1 rep. example: every 20 reports that the moderator agrees with could award one reputation to the reporter. again, to prevent abuse, this could require a certain rep level to become active.

3: hold higher rank people more accountable for what they say as they increase in reputation. if a new person sees a purple talking trash in a thread, they are more likely to think its acceptable.

1. No wont happen, since it is also a prevent spam timer, no way around it.

2. If you can find the addon for it, sure!

3. Just today, over 100 infractions has been given. So it is not the lack of punishment, moreso, our usergroup, which is 13-twenties.. meaning puberty.

I think I have only ever used the report button to report Ads (or was that on another site hmm)...
I've never bothered to actually report trolls since I didn't think it was against the rules and just accepted being the internet heh :S...I'll keep a look out

This is a good idea. Beefing up the ownedcore staff may be wise as well.

We have enough staff members imo, however a good deal of them are probably on vacation/etc while it's summer.
