Professional sellers can probably contact a mod or get verified.

To be honest that would only give people a false feeling of security. High ranked members can still be scammers.

Well, it is much easier for someone to make a new account and scam rather than risk an account they have spent years known as and have high rep. It's like in wow, there's a chance you can get scammed by a level 85 but it's not as big as someone who doesn't have an 85 and is on a vanilla account. It would also help greatly with spam.

Members already knows of the risks of trading with people on the forums.

That's why the I.D verified rank exists.

just trade with ID-verified people.. You can use common sense you know? It is the same when buying a car, you can buy it from the guy at the corner or you can go to a dealer.
