LUA/Macro Forum or Section

Heya,

I talked to Kurios a couple months ago on IRC in #sh regarding a forum for specific LUA/Macro scripts, and he said he'd think about it. Since the BOOM of NA with LUA, other hacks are now taking advantage of the PLUA. So I'd like to have a separate section for it, and possibly a requirement of a certain rep to gain access to it. I certainly can recommend at least a few people here who have low rep, but are knowledgeable in this field who can help out with the requests. Well, not so much as requests, but if people want help, they ask for it and post their work that need help, or lines of code that they need help on. I don't want beggers or leechers, which is why I want this rep minimum to be placed. Because we certainly don't want everybody and their friends (for example) to be using scripts we work on. You certainly don't want someone who doesn't know how to even play their class, match you on DPS right? That's certainly demoralizing. :P

Also, make a few people have mod access who are knowledgeable in the PLUA area. I can suggest few people, including myself. Thought I myself know basics and can make something from scratch and the rotation is good, but optimization isn't my strongest point.

We have a UI&Macro section, why not post MACROS in that section? Just curious.

Because the LUA/Macro scripts are entirely different from the standard macro you're thinking of. These LUA/Macro scripts require the PLUA hack and are written differently. And with the boom of PLUA, the standard UI/Macro forum will just get messy in my opinion. Threads all over the place and you have to look all over to find what you want or need help on. I think it's better to just have a separate section, it'll be more organized and help grow the community.

I actually PM'd kurios about this but he was afk. Protected lua is a bit more sensitive than regular UI and Macros (and alot of dev's like to share, but don't want it public), which is why we are asking for this forum (and for it to not be so public, aka contrib+ and selected people).

put it in the UI & Macro seciton for the time being, and [TAG] it.. the thing is that nothing is really private cdmichael specially since donating takes only a small ammount of cash, as you know..
If you get 80 rep then you can post it in contrib
/closed for the time being.
