    Suggestion to the Community

I've been in this Community for little over two years. Yeah, I know that my reputation isn't that high but I guess that's what happens when you work 12 - 16 hours most of the time. Anyway lets get to the point of this topic suggestion.

In the two years I've been here I've seen people get flamed beyond recognition. We want the community to post information whether it be a REPOST or a copy and paste. When we are great enough to get a new member to the community they start out as a leecher just like the rest of us did. It is their job to work their way out of that stage and raise their rank a bit.

If somebody post, "Fail / Repost" and have 10 different people post a different picture it makes them feel unwanted. It IS our task to help welcome the newer members to the community and show them the ropes. If somebody doesn't use a search option then kindly inform them that we do have one available for use. It doesn't take 10 different people to point it out and start acting like a spaz.

My suggestion is this. Let us all help the new members with a little bit of respect so that MMOWNED can grow in the end. One day these leechers will find something that non of us have and they will keep it to themselves because some A-hole decided to be a jerk about his repost or his common knowledge post.

    So...

Somebody makes a repost or copy and paste and doesn't give the original poster (OP) credit and then the next poster states that it's one of the two then leave it at that unless you have some way of helping the person.

    I agree fully.

If you think there's something wrong with a post, point it out. Don't insult the original poster (unless he's started a flame war...but in that case, you should just report it). I hate nothing more than to see a billion members jump onto an "epic win" or "epic fail" bandwagon, followed up by image macros and such.

If there's a flaw with someone's post, then explain what this flaw is, how they should improve it, and move on. If it's a repost, just tell the person it's a repost, report it, and move on.

People like to fit in. As a result, if they see a thread, see 3 "FAIL" responses, they'll go to Google images and find a fail-related image, then post it. This can go on for several pages.

It's annoying, it's unnecessary, it's not helpful, it's useless, and, it simply makes the original poster feel bad and angry, especially if people aren't actually saying what's wrong or why there's something bad about it or how they can improve it.

This is why I recommend a ban on image macros as a whole. An image macro, for those who don't know, is defined on Wikipedia (Image macro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) as:

On internet forums and imageboards, image macros are used to emphasize a certain phrase (often a clichéd Internet phrase or reference) by superimposing it over a related picture. In some forums, use of image macros outside of certain subforums is seen as annoying or disruptive, and may be prohibited.
In short, it's an image with a few words or a short phrase written on it. They're also often found in the form of "demotivational posters," which has a title and then a phrase under it.

    failpic by verye sucked

Many other forums have an outright ban on image macros. We already have a ban on lolcats; this could just be an extension of it.

Edit: Oh Kur already said he was banning them. Nevermind. ^^

This is why I have a little notepad file on my desktop with copy/pastes for diffrent types of threads that are not allowed and telling them what they should do next time and what they did wrong. ex: warez/repost/spam/something else I forgot.

imo, fail pics are funny if the person actually failed and knew what they were doing. Not when it's a new member getting flamed and never coming back.

I think sometimes its necessary (Like if they are doing it just to make people mad or start a flame war) to knock some common sense into people. Its also pretty funny with the pictures.

    BUT

At the same time its a demeaning and hurtful thing to do.

I totallly agree of what you are saying, and i think this is an awsome Suggestion.

But to be honest, no matter how much you want. There will ALWAYS be /b/tards and 12 year old script kiddies, and most of them will drive you insane. But lets face it, thats how the world looks today and there is nothing we can do except ban every single annoying person.

But that wouldnt be fair, would it?
