Threads that haven't been posted in after 4-6 months should be locked. Would be best done through an automated process.
Why: Prevents necro-ing of threads.

Look at your post, now back to mine; Now back to your post, now back to mine. Sadly, it isn't mine, but if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate content, it could look like mine. Look down, backup, where are you? You're scrolling through threads, reading the post your post could look like. What did you post? Back at mine; It's a reply saying something you want to hear. Look again and the reply is now diamonds.
Anything is possible when you think before you post. The moon is shrinking.
i 2nd that
best suggestion ever made tat prevents becro bumping
If you can find something that would do that automatically it'd be epic... but if not I'm not sure if anyone here would be able to script that.
I don't know much about coding or vB (I use phpbb), but I think you chould make an sql bit that would check the last post date, if it = >4 months, then set the thread type to locked.
Then execute it on the whole DB.

They DO do that, just not that soon. For instance, try posting here:
http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-ex...lll-splat.html
That doesnt mean it's because it is over that many days, it means it is over 848 days old AND that means you cant reply. I think the time is around what you said.

I don't think so. I can go revive a 4 month old thread I think.

The bump rule actually varies depending on which Moderator+ tells you the rule.
But I have been told that any thing posted after a period of 2-3 weeks is considered bumping. As well as that, reporting any thing over a month old is ignored.
I may be wrong, but I just wanted to say what I have been told in the past.
Good luck with this idea. I agree with it and with what you guys are saying.![]()
the value of days has been discussed and set as we felt like it would be the best.
