I just got a spam message and I wonder if the security is low on ownedcore or whether ownedcore sells email addresses. Since I create a unique email for every signup, the traceback to ownedcore was simple.

Yet I did get that email to an email address that I only use on this site. How did they get my email address?

On my profile the email address isn't being shown. Either someone hacked the db somehow or my email address was sold.

You're self-hosted so your own security could also be the issue. We'll look into it but we haven't had any security breaches that could've caused this.

since it was sent only to one address, I tend to assume it's not on my part.

The email you got was listed as "From: "mart4game" <[email protected]>" came from a site that another user on the Forums had linked me to.

As far as I see, a user can't see another user's email address - at least not without 'hacking' (or God/Admin powers).
