"The research clearly shows that exposure to virtual violence increases the risk that both children and adults will behave aggressively,"
oh my god.. this is common sense
if there were no violence ever that means that everyone would be peaceful..
just because there is violence in something doesnt mean that you are going to become violent only because of that.
if we went back too the 1900's, mario(exageration, i couldnt think of anything better) world would probably be ruled out because of the violence in it..
people wouldnt even think about playing it if it had a bit of violence in it.
BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OTHER ACTS OF VIOLENCE AROUND THEM!
NOW VIOLENT MEDIA IS MORE GLOBALY ACCEPTED BECAUSE IT IS AROUND THEM EVERYWHERE
VIDEO GAMES ARE NOT CAUSING PEOPLE TO BE VIOLENT. REGULAR PEOPLE ARE

your post is very hard to follow xps980... are you being sarcastic or do you really not believe there was any violence in the 20th century? it's true that violence in media is more accepted now than it used to be, but i think that has little to do with acts of violence around us -- unless you're referring to our 'acclimatization' to violence, i can't really tell.
