    {Guide}Team Fortress 2 Server

Hey guys, this a guide on how to setup your own Team Fortress 2 server.

    What you need

    http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.exe

    Installing
After you download it run it and install it in your "Local Disk (C".

Then go into your sever folder and right-click "HldsUpdateTool" and
click "Create Shortcut" then drag it onto your desktop.

Right-click the shortcut you just made and go to "Properties" and find "Target" then right after "C:\<your tf2 server folder>\HldsUpdateTool.exe"
put "-command update -game tf -dir c:
    <your tf2 server>\" (without the quotations)

Click Ok then run it. Wait awhile and it should start downloading.
(This will take quiet some time)

    Forwarding the ports
While it's downloading you can forward the port.

Just log into your router and forward port 27015.

    Starting the server
Now open your server folder then go to "orangebox".

Once your there make a shortcut for the "srcds" and drag it to your desktop.

Then right-click it and go to "Properties" and in "Target" after "C:\<your tf2 server folder>\orangebox\srcds.exe" put "-game tf"
    (without the quotations)

Now double-click "srcds" and fill in and change what you want.
    (leave the port the same)

Wait for it to start then once it's up you should be able to join it from the "Lan" section in TF2.

    Useful
    stuff
    Mani Admin Plugin
There should be tutorials on how to install it on the site.

    Adding Custom Maps
First find the custom map in Program Files>Steam>steamapps>(your steam name)>Team Fortress 2>tf>maps and the graph in the "graphs" folder. (if there isn't a graph, then you don't need one for that map)

Then copy the map and graph into your Local Disc>(your tf2 server folder)>orange box>tf>Maps
    (graph in the "graphs" folder)

If you have any problems, post them here I will help if I can.

Did you make a shortcut for the HldsUpdateTool and put "-command update -game tf -dir c:<your tf2 server folder>\" after the stuff in "target"?

If you did tell me exactly what it does when you run it.

I did this in the shortcut : D:\server\HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game tf -dir D:\server\
Question : Does it create a server for LAN only ?
