hay guys am just wundering....

to this day ( 31st October 2011 ) wich is your Favorite game? and why?

Note: The Game has to be released... so you carnt say CoD; MW3 cos its not out yet :P

you ask why i made this thread?

well i was bored and have been downloading alot of games and playing them recently to keep me entertained as my girl friend has gone on holiday and my friends are always drinking :P ( wish i had the money to join em haha )

Why? - Well i played the game ages ago when it first came out and i played it on xbox360... i only ever compleated it on Easy dont ask why i have no idea lol
but yesterday i found it for pc ( i already new it was out for pc :P ) downloaded it, installed it and i found out i still love the game... this time round i put it on hard
and to my surpirse i still find it easy but like i said i still love it :P no doubt when its complated i will uninstall it. But hay thats me

Battlefield 3, hands down the best game I've ever played. It's realistic, it's balanced, the gameplay is amazing and it's going to be a great team game.

Battlefield 3 i dont find that brilliant tbh, baught it thinking the same as what you just said lol but it seems like i kill empty a clip on 1 guy and he wont die yet he kills me in like 3 shots lmao

Empire earth, where money equals power. I love to 1v3 my friends. Rule 3/4 by taking all resources and power lvl your age so you can place hangar ships outside of their bases. :3 <3333

Good it's about damn time, they ruined that game with the bullsh*t CU upgrades. I played the hell out of that game since release until CU.

My favorite would have to be Quake 2. Another one of those that I played for many many years.

Probably myst/riven. They came out when video games started getting much more popular, and are very immersing. You interact in a different world in such an "ordinary" way that you really get into the game. You're dropped into a strange world where you have to adapt to its odd culture through observation. You don't have any sorts of superpowers where you can fight off tons of enemies. To beat the game you have to "reverse engineer" the world you are placed into. I love the eerie, solitary atmosphere of the game, much like I liked with the original portal, and the whole game is very believable. It's not fast-paced, and there's basically no learning curve to it. The maker's of the game put an extraordinary amount of work into creating a believable world, especially in riven, the second game.

I also like these games, because there are real obstacles to overcome. The goal of the game isn't to get from point A to Point B while not dying. I'm sick of games where you are a "hero" who fights thousands of enemies and manages to survive, only with the aid of save points which break the immersion of the game. You play through the myst games as if you were there. If you were somehow placed into the myst worlds, you would be able to solve them just as you would on the computer. There's no death-defying feats that you can only beat with either extreme game skill, or the ability to try it as many times as you want. The levels are pretty much as far from a linear design as you can get. Everything in the game works as a system, which you eventually get into a solved state.
